*Senior ETL Developer Job Description*



In this exciting role, you will participate in the systems development life
cycle for new development, enhancements and maintenance projects in Data
Warehouse/Data Analytics environment.  As a member of the Delivery
Management team, you will lead development project teams to design, develop
and deploy ETL software needed to support a variety of business needs. The
position will report to a resource manager, but will be matrixed to project
managers for completion of project activity. This role is expected to lead
both onsite and offshore teams with a full accountability of delivery and
meet client commitments.



*Responsibilities*

Research, evaluate, identify alternative approaches to support development
needs.

Recommend, design and code efficient and effective solutions for
challenging problems for medium to large work efforts of medium to high
complexity.

Comply with standards and guidelines related to the design, construction,
testing, and deployment activities within the Delivery Management
environments.

Demonstrate collaborative skills working within a project team of diverse
skills.

Bring strong communication skills including oral, written and presentation
skills plus creativity, and problem solving skills to a challenging
environment.

Act as a Project Development Lead with one or more developers.

Provide technical over sight to multiple development initiatives.

Provide guidance and direction to less-seasoned staff.

Conduct technical trainings to broader technical audience.

Present and socialize business segment services and capabilities to senior
leadership.



*Success Factors*

Ability to deliver functionality in two or more programming languages
within a single development environment

Ability to create high complexity detailed technical design specifications

Ability to act as project technical lead for high complexity projects

Ability to act as a lead developer responsible for the planning, completion
and coordination of work activity for projects involving more than one
developer

Ability to lead walk though of design documents and provide technical
leadership over programming team

Strong analytical and technical aptitude

An understanding of a variety of modeling and/or diagramming techniques,
with the ability to create process flow diagrams and the ability read data
flow and entity relationship models

Effective communications with all levels of internal and external customers
and staff, including issue resolution, negotiation of project related
priorities, and completion dates



*Requirements*

·      6+ years of *XCelsius *experience (No business objects or crystal
reports but extensive Xcelsius experience).

·      Evaluate and understand a variety of modeling and/or diagramming
techniques, with the ability to create process flow diagrams and the
ability read data flow and entity relationship models.

·      Develop ETL code meeting  100 percent of technical specifications
and business requirements according to the established designs.

·      6+ years’ experience with multiple file structures and programming
languages.

·      6+ years’ experience with high level technical phases of
applications systems analysis and programming activities

·      Thorough understanding of technological infrastructure and how it
relates to projects is a plus

·      6+ years’ experience with MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)

·      Experience with any SSH client.

·      Highly experience with complex shell scripting using *Unix*, and
*PERL* and *crontab*.

·      Healthcare domain background is a plus.

·      Clinical domain experience is a plus.

·      Knowledge with HIE formats 837 i&p, HL7/ADT is a plus.

·      Experience in converting specifications to programs and data mapping
in an ETL DataStage environment. In addition ETL Pentaho knowledge is a
plus.

·      Provide High Level and Low Level Architecture Solution/Design to the
project.

·      Strong knowledge in data base technologies Teradata, Oracle, SQL
Server, DB2, Netezza and GreenPlum.

·      4+ years of experience with TWS/d job scheduler  automation tool.



*Nice to have*

·      Experience with PDW

·      Act as a Project Development Lead with one or more developers
matrixed for the completion of the project

·      Experience working in a high volume DataStage environment.

·      Experience in developing Oracle procedures, functions, packages,
database triggers and troubleshooting using PL/SQL and SQL.

·      Experience in implementing advanced features of Oracle like
Autonomous Transactions, Ref-Cursors, PL/SQL Tables, Table Partitioning,
V-Arrays, Materialized Views, Merge statements,SQL*Loader, External Tables,
Pipelined/Table functions, Result Cache, With Clause and Multi Table
Inserts.

·      Experience troubleshooting performance issues, SQL tuning.

·      Experience with Oracle, SQL Server in Unix environment.

·      Previous experience in Pentaho.

·      Strong knowledge in data base technologies Teradata, Oracle, SQL
Server, DB2, Netezza and GreenPlum.

·      Understanding of Hadoop stack such as Hadoop (Java, Map Map Reduce,
Pig, Hive).

·      AIX

·      Multiple programming languages (Perl, Shell script, C++)

·      UDB/EEE

·      Autosys or equivalent job scheduling tool experience
