*Duration – 12 months* *Location – Minneapolis, MN* *Skill* QA (QA, QC, Testing, etc) *Skills Required* Our client wants really SDET people although they’re not calling them that. They want someone who can drive and work on their own and do so in an environment that’s process heavy and highly regulated. Below are the overall human characteristics they want that apply to both jobs are: • Technical mind set, high level • Working in a regulated industry • Understand the SDLC • Not just do the work but also show they followed the process • Training up front; not only process but also where and how to apply it • Lots of face to face; written communication; distributed working environment • Flex schedule; initially all in the building; 40 hours a week in the building • Manual test, follow templates and fill them; details are important; automated tests • Some WHAT and WHY not just HOW • Self-starters • No time to hand hold For the second of the two jobs, the Programmer (this is the name of the product they make) engineer, the following technical pieces are relevant: • Custom apps written in C/C++ running on Win XP; will eventually be moving off this platform to something more modern • Internal automation tools that interface w the devices • Working towards unit tests and automation • Python for scripting • Moving into unit test development • Willing to take the time to learn • Working toward the SDET model • Some automated regression tests but early on; test tool creation and test code creation will be important • Nunit/Junit/GTS (for C/C++) • Limited performance profiling; don’t have a feel for the details of the performance implications of mobile – bring your own device model downstream • Moving to mobile o Java, JavaScript, C#.NET, Android, iOS o Xamarin * POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: * § Design, Develop, and Execute tests in compliance with applicable regulations and processes. § Understand and analyze product requirements § Design and execution of tests using automated test tools. § Design and execution of manual tests. § Establish and maintain traceability from software requirements to verification test design and implementation. § Participate in the technical review of software requirements. § Participate in the technical review of peer verification test development. § Interface with software development engineers on software implementation. § Perform test execution and participate in the review of peer test execution. § Assist development team on debugging and solving issues discovered during test. § Operate electronics testing equipment. § Prepare, review, submit, and maintain project/product documentation. § Assist the verification lead in workload planning and time estimation. § Participate in process improvement initiatives of the testing team. This includes recognizing areas for improvement as well as working with others to develop and document process improvements. § Work under general direction and collaboratively with internal and external partners. § Help maintain, improve and design new software tools. These tools use either Perl, Java, or C++. *Skills Desired* DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Proficiency with C/C++, Java • Strong knowledge of software design and test practices • Strong oral and written communication skills • Experience with configuration management tools • Proficiency working in a team environment • Experience in mobile software testing, ex. iOS, Android • Experience in web based technologies, ex. HTML5, JavaScript and CSS • Experience in Open Source development platform/tools, ex.
