Please send the resumes at [email protected] Job Title: VMWare Administrator Location: Columbia, SC Duration: 12 Months Client: State of SC Primary Responsibilities: Maintain and administer virtual server environment. Create and manage maintenance process procedures for Vmware version updates patches on all ESXi Hosts. Ensuring seamless failover and testing during maintenance tasks. Report on VM improvements, and make recommendations / arrangements for the upgrade and or work to be completed with little business impact. This would include VM virtual hardware versions, and VMware Tool updates. Maintain and administer all virtual backs up of VM’s, Recovery and Storage Snapshots. Develop and implement processes to streamline management and VM builds within our ESXi environment. Troubleshooting and working with various vendors to resolve potential possible issues to the virtual infrastructure. Effectively monitor alerting of virtual environment. Respond quickly to any virtual matters and to assure 247 uptime. Participate in strategic planning and guidance around our ESXi environment. This includes various sites, and DR solutions including SRM and VSphere replication. Help to better utilize our automated solutions for the virtual infrastructure, Orchestrator, SRM, Host Profiles….. Develop and maintain proper documentation for procedures processes designs builds in regards to the virtual infrastructure. Management, monitoring and troubleshooting of physical server environment (Firmware and Bios updates) and working with respective hardware vendors for ordering troubleshooting. Visual inspections of our Data Centers for hardware failures. Provide on-call support for our server infrastructure or application failures resulting in the need to engage on-call IT personnel. This will require on-call rotation with other IT resources. JOB REQUIREMENTS: 3+ years administering VMware virtual infrastructure. VMware certified preferred or equivalent work experience. Experience in virtual architecture and design. Experience in SAN storage and design is highly desired. Windows certified (MCSE) preferred or equivalent work experience. Windows and Linux server experience in regards to builds, administering and troubleshooting. Strong Understanding of disaster recovery, backup and restoration procedures Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills Flexible to work overtime as required Proactive approach to tasks and projects. Perform other duties as assigned.
