*Sr. Technical Business Analyst*

*Atlanta, GA*

*12+ months*



Our client, a Fortune 500 company, seeks an energetic, senior level
Business Analyst. This resource is expected to be an analytical and
creative person who has a holistic and systematic approach to solving
problems with strong communication and organizational skills.  This
position is responsible for analyzing, defining, documenting and testing
business and system requirements for complex, high profile projects and
acting as the liaison between management, developers, quality assurance and
the business partners.  The candidate will join a dynamic project team that
supports and develops software applications for client initiatives.



Specific duties include but are not limited to the following:



   - *Understanding a project’s objectives and business requirements*
   - *Organizing and facilitating meetings with business partners and other
   parties to capture requirements*
   - *Documenting requirements and use cases in a structured manner*
   - Coordinating with multiple parties including vendors, various groups
   within IT and business partners to ensure the gathered requirements are
   implemented
   - Working with quality assurance teams to ensure quality of software
   - Assisting business partners in exploring alternative technology and
   business solutions in order to make more informed decisions
   - Maintaining a deep understanding of how Norfolk Southern business
   operations work



*Education:  *

4-yr College Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics is
required.   A Master’s degree from a US University is preferred.



*Responsibilities:*

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:



·          *Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, site
visits, business process descriptions, use cases, business analysis and
workflow analysis*

·          Proactively communicate and collaborate with business partners
to analyze data and business needs in order to develop functional and
non-functional requirements

·          Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources,
reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details

·          Ensure development of high quality and comprehensive functional
and non-functional requirement documentation including the following
artifacts; requirements document, use cases and screen mockups

·          Be able to distinguish between user requests versus the
underlying true business needs

·          Develop requirement specifications according to client SDLC
standards and templates

·          Work with the development and quality assurance teams to ensure
that they have a good understanding of the application/system that is being
created.

·          Monitor user adoption rates and respond as needed in regards to
additional training sessions, communication, system modifications, etc.

·          Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously

·          Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to
determine the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and
performance needs

·          Evaluate the effectiveness of internal processes and propose
improvements

·          Maintain a high level of initiative and attention to detail
during daily operations

·          Promote strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus

·          Assist with quality assurance testing of software releases and
UAT duties

·          Assist with the development and presenting of user training and
associated materials



*Experience and Skills:*

*Required: *

·          *Minimum of 6 years of business analysis experience documenting,
analyzing and developing business processes and business requirements in
support of mission critical applications*

·          Minimum of 4+ years of experience in Object Oriented Design and
Development using tools such as *Java, C++, UML*

·          Experience conducting interviews with key stakeholders and
working closely with subject matter experts in order  to gather pertinent
information

·          Experience with requirement gathering methodologies, strategies
and use of testing tools such as *HPQC and TFS*

·          Strong analytical skills , including a thorough understanding of
how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into
application and operational *requirements*

·          Ability to explain technical and architectural complexities to
business stakeholders

·          The ability to interact professionally with executives,
managers, subject matter experts and development teams

·          Flexibility to quickly adapt to change and learn new
technologies, processes and procedures as needed

·          Able to execute with efficiency, accuracy and attention to
detail on a consistent basis

·          Ability to demonstrate strong presentation skills

·          Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to
effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously

·          Commitment to excellence in regards to the customer experience
including support and training

·          Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office tools including*
Visio*

·          Experience in problem-solving

·          Experience with project management practices and principles

·          Experience developing applications using *SDLC* methodology

·          Strong analytical and problem solving skills

·          Strong time management and organizational skills

·          Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·          Strong teamwork ethic
