Informatica Developer with Oil Trading Experience Location: Houston, TX Length: 5/31/2010 Skill/Role Level Years Preference Commodities Trading Trained 1.0 Preferred Developer Intermediate 3.0 Required UNIX Trained 1.0 Required Informatica Intermediate 3.0 Required Securities Trading Trained 1.0 Preferred Background: This role is responsible for the enhancements and projects work carried out by the US Datamart and Datawarehouse teams within the Global Oil Front Office Portfolio of the BSM. This position requires skills as a developer, support analyst and business analyst with experience in backend technologies, such databases (ORACLE, Sybase, SQL Server), ETL tools (SSIS, Informatica), and data warehouse/data mart methodologies. Primary focus is Informatica development. Job Description: The Developer will be responsible for executing the design, development and system testing tasks assigned and provide support during UAT and possibly the Hypercare period too. This role demands seasoned Informatica skills, and delivery experience in a fast paced environment as the primary competence, with Physical Oil Trading or financial Services business domain knowledge as a secondary competence. Position Accountabilities: 1. Perform day-to-day development's work on BSM project. Adhere to all relevant standards and processes. 2. Work with other development teams 3. Attend code reviews & status meeting for Data Mart/Data Warehouse development team 4. Develop in a manner to ensure that the database scripts and components meet business/technical requirements and performance goals, and Database development best practices. 5. Strong knowledge of Informatica Velocity. 6. Develop in accordance to Strong Quality Control standards to align technical specifications with functional requirements across functional groups within the projects, primarily BA's, architects and developers. 7. Code Informatica mappings from technical specs or logical mappings (Develops and Unit Tests). 8. Must be able to define and capture metadata and rules associated with Informatica processes. 9. Develop unit & string test scripts, test conditions, expected results and sample data for data mappings. 10. Execute unit & string test to ensure Stored procedure mappings meet technical design specifications. 11. Assist in defect resolution process during testing & production support including completing code fixes, tracking and recording defect resolutions, working closely with test execution resources to identify and resolve issues and re-executing unit & string test scripts. 12. Work with stakeholders (technical/functional) to ensure the development work meets business and technical requirement. 13. Inform the DW Team Leads of any issues that may affect any other areas of the project. 14. Document the application to facilitate maintenance. 15. Lead efforts to develop roles/privileges within Informatica/Database to clearly align with Shell's separation of duties. 16. Monitor technical change control efforts with respect to project scope. 17. Align with development/migration strategies to adhere to application excellence policies 18. Develop to meet specific functional requirements, optimize support design, and manage effective change control with respect to Coordination/Communication: - Status reporting to the Team lead and project manager. - Participation in Peer and code reviews - Working with the Business Analyst, Technical author and tester to help develop technical specifications, test specifications, user guides and support documentation - Line Management: Reporting to the Oil and Shipping SDM.
