*Immediate Hire Position!* *Locals preferred* * * *Seeking **Sr. Cognos Consultant * Location: Richardson, TX Long Term This person will be primarily responsible for working with our business partners to design and develop *Framework Manager Models* to support the desired reporting solution both for professional level report development and ad-hoc use. *Qualifications: * 1) Bachelor Degree with 4 years data warehouse experience OR 6 years data warehouse experience; 2) 5 years demonstrated experience with *Cognos application development;* 3) demonstrated experience with structured query language *(SQL);* 4) demonstrated experience working with *Teradata, DB2, MS SQL;* 5) demonstrated experience performing analysis of underlying * datasource/schema* and making recommendations to enhance report solution performance; 6) demonstrated ability to create and maintain complex metadata layers*, that incorporate such functionality as burst key, user defined functions, external .iqd files, and applying security according to best practice; * 7) demonstrated ability to create detailed design/requirements documents to be used by development team; 8) 4 years demonstrated analytical, organizational and planning skills; 9) 3 years demonstrated experience *project management;* 10) demonstrated interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to promote understanding and facilitate the implementation of enterprise data warehouse principles; 11) Demonstrated ability to take a proactive approach to identifying and escalating to the technical lead such issues that will have an adverse impact on the project or shared Cognos environment. ***Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and/or experience: Crystal Reports Server, and Crystal Reports experience; Microsoft Server experience; Knowledge of healthcare or insurance industries; Knowledge of Cognos tools would be a benefit.*** This person will participate in planning sessions with the project team to analyze business requirements and define the proposed solution, performing analysis of underlying data source/schema and make recommendations to enhance report solution performance. Additionally this person will be responsible for completing requirements/design documents that will be used by the development team in Illinois and Texas, to create required reporting solutions. Upon completion of these items, this person will perform the post-development peer review, and coordinate migration / deployment of packages, reports and cube solution between environments. This person will work under the guidance of a Technical Lead, and will be held accountable for completing tasks within assigned timeline, collaborate with other developers in creating optimal, maintainable, and scalable architecture and design Secondary to modeling, this person will be responsible for report development as assigned, using the Report Studio and other studios available in Cognos 8. --------------------- Thanks!
