*Reply me on [email protected] <[email protected]>* Position: Senior UNIX Systems Administrator Location: Sunnyvale, California Duration: 6+ Months Sr. UNIX Systems Administrator This person will be in a data center with our client's IS Group in Sunnyvale, CA Responsibilities include the following: • Directly supporting new, and existing customers, including: • UNIX and Linux systems support. • Support and maintain an active disaster recovery plan. • Ability to identify and automate processes. • Expert understanding of UNIX/Linux internals. • Occasional after-hours or weekend work; always on-call as 2nd/3rd level support. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Work productively in cooperation with others on a consistent basis. • Respond positively to direction and criticism of performance. Sr UNIX Systems Administrator Mandatory Skills • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • 8+ years overall IT experience • 5+ years with UNIX/Linux o Proven skills with Solaris 8-10 and RHEL 5-6 o Experience with building and maintaining systems in physical and VMware virtual environments o Experience working with Oracle/Sun and Fujitsu hardware o Strong understanding of managing UNIX and Linux systems in NAS and SAN environments o Experience with UNIX/Linux monitoring tools. o Understanding of performance tuning, especially in a database environment o Experience with Apache and LAMP stack, including adding modules, configuring mod_rewrite rules, adding virtual hosts o Familiarity with Tomcat o Ability to compile and install open-source software • Understanding of ITIL processes and procedures • Scripting experience in Shell and Perl • Excellent Interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with internal/external customers. • Ability to work within a team.
