*Need SQl BI Lead local to NJ - 6 Months contract!* Position : SQl BI Lead Location : Jersey City,NJ*(Need Locals for onsite interview)* Duration : 6 Months Job Description: Immediate need for a Business Intelligence Technical Lead / Analyst technical resource to lead and complement the current BI development team in reporting services, analysis services, SSIS and data analysis. This position also requires Microsoft .NET C#. Programming experience in order to support and integrate SSRS based reporting solutions in our existing .NET web based Portals ecosystem. This position will also require cross functional interaction with team members and stakeholders in the business, data analysis efforts, and development / delivery of various reports, dashboards, or other forms of reporting presentation materials. These activities will involve both day-to-day requests as well as involvement in special engagement projects. This role will report Senior Manager of IT Applications Development. Technical Summary: The current technical environment includes: MS SQL Server (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS) Data Warehouse, ORACLE Databases, MS SQL Databases, Business Objects Reports, C# and VB .NET Web Based Applications & Portals Ecosystem, Remedy, Sales Force, Dundas Dashboards, Silverlight & Outlooksoft. Most of our reporting data is sourced (extracted and translated) from ORACLE ERP system and MS SQL Data Base Servers. Responsibilities: The position will focus on the day to day aspects of supporting our existing BI Data warehouse environment and integrations leveraging multiple BI Development Tools (reporting, charting, graphing or visualization); SSRS, SSAS, Business Objects, Dundas, and Crystal Reports etc. Lead small On-shore and Off-shore BI development team in reporting services, analysis services, SSIS, data analysis as well as the above mentioned technologies Provide technical data stewardship for the data coming into the data warehouse, where it is stored, and how it is used. Assume technical leadership role supporting other developers on technical skills, influencing product interface direction, managing standards and approving system modifications. Manage concurrent Development & Support issues work streams while engaged in multiple projects. Design, code and test complex systems analysis projects Prepare detailed specifications from which programmers use to write, design, code, and test and debug the most complex programs. Demonstrate complex problem-solving skills by defining the presenting technical system solutions for identified technical issues. Document activities from design to completion to assist future analysts in understanding work solutions. Ensure documentation completion for overall project. Review support incidents for technical problems. Ensure technical guidelines/requirements and department standards are followed by team members. Ensure integration with overall system delivery and deployment EXPERIENCE Required: 5 - 7 years BI Data Warehousing with some level of leadership experience. 6+ years’ work experience in job with Business Intelligence analysis, design, implementation, development, training and testing is required. 5 - 7 years in Microsoft Business Intelligence Reporting Server Services SSAS (MDX query knowledge a must), SSRS & SSIS MS SQL Server 2005/2008/2014 Strong SQL, stored procedures/functions, views Extensive knowledge of database uses and design is required. Expert level ability to understand and write Structured Query Language (SQL), Store Procedures and views. Proven ability to work directly with users and management to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build good relationships. Candidate must be able to work independently but know when to seek input and direction. Experience in a data analyst, data mining, and/or statistical analysis role; demonstrating an ability to integrate and analyze data from a variety of data resources. Ability to perform analysis (as needed) to identify availability of data as well as gaps in data and deliver recommendations / considerations based on those findings. Ability to perform data analysis to identify relevant trends and/or data quality issues and execute follow up analysis and formulate recommendations as needed. Completion of day-to-day and special engagement projects that require data mining, analysis, and/or report/dashboard development (or other means / forms of presentation). Team lead experience with On-site / Off-shore resources Team player.
