*Kindly Reply on: [email protected] <[email protected]> * Sr. Linux Engineers working within the Media Systems and Network Engineering group must approach their responsibilities with a “dial-tone” mindset, i.e., the systems, networks, databases, storage systems and applications must achieve and maintain the highest levels of availability and performance to ensure that the time and business-critical demands of feature film production are supported with world-class technology and systems management. Specific responsibilities include: • Design and enhance scalable systems (Linux/Unix); measurement, optimization, and tuning of system performance and ensuring that systems will run reliably and are highly available in a 24/7 production environment. • Investigates, analyzes, documents, and resolves hardware and software problems on datacenter computer systems; performs technical assistance, and support on a wide range of servers and datacenter hardware. • Create and maintain operational documentation pertaining to deployment, management and administrative processes, including data recovery requirements for operating systems, application configuration, and data, then executes and monitors back-up schedules. • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, including work off-hours on occasion to maximize production uptime. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE Deep knowledge of: • Systems hardware (e.g. blade servers, load balancers, SAN, NAS, and tape libraries). • Operating system administration (e.g. Unix, Linux, OSX, and Windows). • High performance data storage solutions whether SAN, NAS, or Clustered (e.g. Isilon) • Large-scale backup solutions and tape technologies (e.g. Quantum, NetBackup) • Data center, network, and application architectures • Server architectures (e.g. multi-core, distributed) • Local and Networked File Systems (e.g. NFS, CIFS, AFP, DFS, NTFS, Hadoop) • File Transport Solutions (e.g. Signiant, Aspera, SFTP) • Application and Web Services • Systems Toolsets and protocols (e.g. SNMP, Nagios, tcpdump) • Configuration Management (e.g. Puppet) • Virtual Environment technologies (e.g. VMWare, OpenStack, CloudStack) • Digital Production environments • Systems Security (e.g. password domains, patch, monitoring) • Must have scripting expertise. Experience with PHP, Perl , Python and Ruby (optional), JSON+REST/XML+SOAP, mySQL, Cloudstack, Openstack, configuration management (Puppet, Chef) • Automation technologies in Systems Additional film-specific knowledge: • Encode, Decode, Transcode • Fingerprinting • Watermarking • Rendering • Compositing • Digital Intermediate Desired practical experience: • Operating system installation and management • Strong project management and resource planning experience • IP networking including performance based troubleshooting • Installation of large server systems • Recover large file system in production environment • Routed network installation and management • File transport experience Regards, Lisa Dutt Desk No # 609-935-3773 EXT 102 Email : [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP BASIS" group.
