The USIT team within IT works directly with the Monsanto Technology Development team to develop software to enable research and development efforts. The accepted candidate will join the emerging field of IT systems informatics leveraging their training to play a key role in defining and delivering the next commercial products for Monsanto. Monsanto has an opportunity available for a Prototype Developer to join our Technology Development & Agronomy (TD&A) team within the USIT team. The ideal candidate for this role *must demonstrate strong UI visual and interaction design and development skills* and the ability to collaborate with various team members to produce intuitive business solutions. The TD&A team works with business functions to develop software platforms that enable business capabilities. The Prototype Developer will utilize their technical understanding of application architecture to quickly build working software prototypes from which enterprise systems can be built. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills to successfully interact with business partners, software development teams, software architects and engagement leads. *Major Accountabilities* · Work collaboratively with TD Data Team to develop innovative prototypes. *The prototypes will incorporate current front-end engineering best practices.* · Maintain a high awareness of industry issues and trends, particularly in regard to accessibility, usability, and emerging technologies, and keep team members informed as appropriate, with a view to incorporating these in future projects · Interpret provided graphic, visual, and interaction designs in Objective-C, Swift, Java, or Cordova · Represent the USIT Team professionally in collaborative environments throughout Monsanto · Update and collaborate with USIT PM, development, QA and analyst teams · Work with business analysts in the analysis, design and development of enterprise-class software · Work with department and enterprise architecture teams to define application architectures and designs that result in efficient business systems and integrate seamlessly with other enterprise systems · Provide estimation of deliverables, design and develop software *Qualifications* *Required Skills* · *Strong understanding of the Android and iOS development* · Excellent understanding of mobile industry standards, guidelines and trends, and experience designing applications leveraging these trends · Demonstrated proficiency in developing enterprise-level mobile applications · Understanding of *user-centered design and human computer interaction methodologies* · Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills to handle multiple diverse projects simultaneously · Minimum of 2 - 3 years software development experience using Java, Objective-C and/or Swift or Cordova · Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience · The demonstrated ability to learn and acquire new technologies as needed · Proficient with the following: o *Objective-C* o *Java* o *Refactoring* o developing multi-tier applications o Object-Oriented methodologies o high level GO4 design patterns (above and beyond J2EE patterns) o Spring framework understanding o Hibernate/ORM experience *Desired Skills/Experience* · Strong interpersonal and communication skills · Experience developing feature rich & complete mobile apps using Objective-C, Swift, Java, Cordova, REST and JSON · Experience with Test Driven Development · Experience with Maven and other packaging management systems · Experience with SVN/GIT and/or other version control systems · Experience with Web Services · Experience in agriculture and/or biotechnology · Exposure to, or experience working in, an Agile development/continuous integration environment · Master’s degree in computer science or a related field Thanks for your Time & Consideration. *Vikshobhmani* *SR.
