The Lab Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning,
installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems
hardware/software and related infrastructure.  This individual participates
in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation
within the lab infrastructure.  This individual ensures that system
hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures
adhere to organizational values, enabling staff to meet their testing
criteria within the lab environment. Performs upgrades, installs and
trouble-shoots issues on the network, networking hardware devices and
software.  Develops and documents system standards.

This individual will assist project teams with building out their testing
environment using VMware Infrastructure vCenter 5.1 – 5.5 in the initiation
and planning phase of the project.  These activities include building out
Windows Server 2008 R2  and Linux 6.1 – 6.5 operations systems in a VMware
environment.  Building out the testing environment to meet the use case
criteria.  Work with Solutions Engineering with Enterprise Quality
Assurance on the build plans and build out. The Engineer will support the
operations in executing testing and rolling out the solutions in the IT
Lab.  Transition of projects from development and QA testing into
production performing activities within the project life-cycle.

The Systems Engineer job position will oversee IT Lab functions as required
for project build out and use case testing. Administration, management and
maintenance of computer network systems. The individual is accountable for
the following systems:

*Must have STRONG working knowledge of the following:*

Network:  Network trouble-shooting, TCPIP, Multi Protocol networks, L1 –L7,
Experience with performance monitoring Running patch cables,
Ethernet/Fiber.  Have some knowledge of Cisco Switches – MDS 9148s  San
Fabric switches, Cisco 5K and Nexus 7K switches, VMware NSX, Checkpoint,
Blue Coat, iXIA LAN/WAN simulator.  Internet Proxy and security. Firewalls
and security appliances.

Storage:  Must have a good working knowledge of - EMC VMAX, VNXe, XtremIO,
vPLEX, Hands  on knowledge of  NetApp filers, Storage and configuration,
STAR and SRDF Replication, EMC RecoverPoint (Realtime Replication),  Must
have Knowledge of setup and configuration of VMware SRM (Site Recovery
Manager) within a Global environment. Configure setup and trouble-shoot
storage systems.

Server/Compute:  Install and configure HP Servers – Onboard Administrator,
iLO3 and HP Installation experience. Performing server installs with VMware
VSphere 5.1 – 5.5 Host Operating System and configuration, VMware CLI and
console support, VMware ESXi 5.5, HP DL 580 G7, DL 980 G7 rack mount
servers.  Installation and configuration of Cisco UCS B200 M2 and M3
blades, Cisco UCS Manager,  Cisco C220 M3 servers, Working knowledge of VCE
vBlock, Active Directory, SQL Server Database, Clustering, MySQL, Oracle
Database server.  Linux RedHat  6.5 – 7.1 OS Images,  server build out and
configuration.  Windows 2008 R2 and Windows 2012 installation and
configuration.  Knowledge of Microsoft  SCCM 2003, HP Operations
Orchestration building out servers with automation and scripting tools, HP
Network Automation – automate configuration and software changes across
global sites.

Virtualization:  Must have knowledge and experience with VMware 5.1 – 5.5,
Citrix6.0 – 7.0, VMware and Citrix VDI, Install and configure VMware ESXi
5.1 and 5.5 vSphere.  Host server  vSphere 5.1 – 5.5, vCenter 5.1 – 5.5,
Working knowledge of all VMware suite Operations Manager, SRM (Site
Recovery Manager), VMware NSX, vCloud, VMware Converter, Software Defined
Storage, Chargeback, vRealize Business usage metering and service pricing
for vSphere.

Cloud:  VMware Cloud 5.1 – 5.5, vRealize 6.0 vCloud Suite,  Amazon AWS,
Microsoft Azure,
