Perl 5 Developer Location: Waltham MA Duration: 4-6+ months
Main Skillsets: - Senior level Perl5 programmer (5+ years); Perl DBI concepts (Perl to Database API) nice-to-have, but not a requirement - Oracle 10g database - Linux preferred platform (Redhat preference, but will take others), UNIX we'll look at as well. - Pharma/Life sciences background a plus, but not a requirement. Project Background - Pharmaceutical application that currently runs on Windows, and the customer with Oracle is moving the database environment to Linux that requires program re-writes to be done by Tricore in conjunction with Phase Forward's in-house developer. - Older environment running Oracle on Windows with scripts in Visual basic and BAT DOS scripts setting up the Environment and calling the programs to interact with the OS and database. - Need to convert 60-70 programs over to Perl scripts (Some easy, several lines, some 20 pages of code) In-house developer has done about 20% of the work already. - customer looking to have this done by end of quarter(may require adding two resources versus one and splitting the time) Thanks and Regards, Ram K Vutukuri Pyramid Consulting, Inc.
