And Pharma or biotech or life sciences is a big plus but not a must. *Published Description:* Our client, a major Biotech firm located in Northern NJ, is seeking an information architect in their IT-Global Planning And Strategy area. This is a consulting position *SKILLS /PREREQUISITES* · Broad IT experience and background with at least 5-8 years of progressive and focused responsibility in developing actionable information architecture strategies, frameworks and solutions. · Expert knowledge of EIM framework s, disciplines and maturity models – specifically Data Governance, Data Modeling, BI/DW and Data Integration disciplines. Experienced in applying those models to define a actionable Information Management Strategy and Roadmap that furthers business goals. · Ability to perform hands-on analysis and activities to develop information architecture strategies at a project, program or business/service area level to make sure optimal information management and sharing takes place. · Hands-on ability to create, develop and update Conceptual and Logical Data Models at Enterprise and Segment level using data modeling tools) as well as information centric business process models is required. Experience in ER Studio Modeling tools is a plus. · Ability to communicate the data models and its impact on information architecture/approach to both IT and business users as needed. · Must have ability to: a) effectively interact (verbal, writing and presentation) with with business and IT leaders, ask effective questions to understand context and process that impact information and articulate value of information architecture approaches and gain buy-in; b) proven ability to collaborate with multiple IT and business stakeholders and participate in discussions to define/understand the problem, gather relevant information and document key findings and recommendations c)effectively lead matrix projects with global implications; d) integrate architectures at the conceptual and logical levels, and assess appropriate solutions; e) work effectively as a team leader and team member. · Exposure to Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry processes and technology solutions is preferred. *Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:* · Overall responsibility to review, guide, oversee and connect all data modeling activities across Company and create Enterprise/Segment Data Models and insights from them. · Develop enterprise and segment level conceptual and logical data models as needed. Connect various lower level models into higher level models that show information synergies and reuse. · Take conceptual data models and work with the team to further decompose into logical and physical data models · Promote consistency and best practices across all modeling activities · Support as needed development of reference architectures ,frameworks, data strategies and best practices to advance information management capability maturity · Establish and operationalize data architecture best practices within various IT processes · Direct teams piloting best practices to produce required artifacts. Review the solution architecture and designs from an information perspective and provide pragmatic suggestions to improve the architecture. · Develop and update existing IT templates and develop new guidelines that provide teams clear direction on what, when and how of the activity that needs to be performed from information architecture perspective.. Work with various stakeholders to socialize and promote adoption. · Provide just in time training, hands-on architecture and design support, and consulting as necessary to improve the overall information architecture within the project and across Company. · Take overall responsibility to map information objects to business capabilities, applications, etc. to generate insights that enable strategic decisions and investments for senior IT leadership and Business Partners.
