*Position: Oracle DBA* *Location: Atlanta GA * *Duration: 5 Months Contract to hire* *Interview: F2F Local or nearby candidates only they have to join within a week.* *End Client is Atlanta-based Information Technology Company* *Job Description:* *Principle Responsibilities* • Provide "Severity 1" platform support. Be available for on-call job rotation. Complete service requests and problem cases • Manage setup, configuration, maintenance and performance of Oracle systems • Work closely with and communicate with cross-functional groups (development, QA, production, systems administration) • Utilize third party tools such as TOAD or SQL Developer • Manage RDBMS, utilizing the Linux Operating System, Oracle 10gR2 with RAC (development, test and production) • Understand data management, partitioning, devise data archive methodology • Participate in Enterprise Information Management, data warehouse using ETL tools, project code migrations etc. • Participate in strategic planning and solution definition • Administer backup, recovery and environment refreshes using RMAN and scripts • Assess/evaluate alternate or hardware strategies • Perform upgrades, patches and installations of Oracle RDBMS, Clusterware and RAC components • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture and application teams to design solutions • Participate in planning of strategic direction of an highly available environment including roadmap, processes, and procedures • Production support of application teams by identifying, researching and resolving performance and production database related issues • Collaborate with security fulfillment and change management team to define and enforce established processes, policies and procedures • Formally document database “best practices” • Provide technical recommendations and foresight as to how future and current requirements could impact the enterprise • Ensured adherence to formal processes, standards, and best practices in all activities • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Information Systems or a related area or equivalent experience. • Excellent writing and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels, technical and nontechnical • Ability to get work done in a team environment, along with being a highly motivated and self-starter • SQL Server experience is required • *Mid-level to senior DBA with 7 - 10 years employment experience in a Oracle database administration on version 10g/11 or earlier* • Production support experience maintaining HA databases. • Hands-on experience in migrating Oracle databases from an existing data center to another. • Hands-on *experience in design, configuration and installation of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)* • Extensive experience with Backup and Recovery using *RMAN* & realistic Disaster Recovery planning experience • Expert *at performance tuning* and expert troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; query/index optimization; partitioning schemes • Experience with *Linux RedHat Server 4 or 5* • Oracle support in .NET environment • Experience with database design and architecture • Experience with transactional processing, data warehousing & data mining • Working knowledge of EIM concepts i.e. Data Governance, Master Data Management, Metadata • Management • Experience with Materialized Views • Table space management and database growth capacity management • Strong Oracle Application Development experience working with application teams; Expert in PL/SQL *Experience in:* o Oracle Grid Control o Oracle ASM o Oracle Streams o Oracle DataGuard o Oracle Data Pump • Experience in Database and Data Integration technologies *Desirables:* • Oracle Certifications desired • Some experience working in a Unix environment is a plus • Logical and Physical data modeling; Dimensional modeling experience is a plus • Experience in Broker Dealer or Financial Services industry is a plus -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP BASIS" group.
