Job Title: COBOL DEVELOPER Location: Rock Island, IL Duration: 6 Month Contract-to-Hire (*HAVE TO BE HIRABLE – GREEN CARD OR USC) Interview Method: F2F preferred – WebEx if not local -We are seeking an experienced COBOL developer to maintain legacy Unisys mainframe applications and systems for Modern Woodmen. This individual will troubleshoot production problems as well as support ongoing application maintenance. This individual will work with user departments and other IT analysts to effectively analyze, design, code, test and implement automated solutions. Responsibilities: .Debug production problems and provide timely resolutions to incidents keeping in mind our service level standards and goals .Perform “keep the lights on” maintenance to a variety of batch and tip applications with limited documentation or instruction from IT analysts who are dedicated to other projects .Work independently on tasks but be willing to take direction from Senior Developers, Project Managers and Management. .Collaborate with other developers in a team atmosphere to deliver a complete project from start to finish. .Participate as needed in entire application life cycle – concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to production and support.
