*Ruby on Rails Developer * *Location: Baltimore, Maryland* *Duration: Contract 6+Months !!* Description: This position will be on a production team, working with peers (e.g., Salesforce Developers, Business Analysts, UX Designers, and QA/automation testers) to deliver and support the front-end components of the customer experience. A proven track record for delivering rich digital mobile/web experiences using the latest tools and technologies will be necessary. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively with the UX team to provide solutions that are highly usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable on top of the Heroku platform. They will be passionate about their work, self-motivated, detail-oriented and have excellent problem solving abilities. They may deal with highly ambiguous problems, taking full control and responsibility for finding solutions, and will drive towards simple solutions to complex problems. Be part of a growing, highly talented development team, working on digital products with exciting growth potential. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*: - Architect, design, develop, and maintain a the back end of a rich user experience utilizing leading web/mobile tools and technologies (Ruby on Rails) - Provide platform support for the Ruby app running on the Heroku platform, PostgreSQL database and the Salesforce connector - Participate in full product lifecycle: plan, prototype, and test in an agile, continuous integration, and automated testing environment - Research and define development approaches that deliver optimal solutions and minimize operational support requirements - Collaborating with Salesforce and LMS developers to design product solutions that efficiently optimize customer experience - Invest time in ongoing development of skills through self-study or training classes - Support teams to help successful integration of front-end assets to back-end/production-level systems Required Skills: • 3+ years application development and design experience • 2+ years developing consumer facing solutions in an agile environment using Ruby on Rails • Experience with responsive web design frameworks and techniques • Experience in Agile (SCRUM) environments is preferred • Able to provide expert-level guidance on web standards, usability best practices, and UI trends Ruby on Rails development skills *EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or related field or equivalent experience *PREFERRED EXPERIENCE*: • Heroku experience a major plus Regards: Sam Williams - Recruiting Manager ITBrainiac Inc.
