*Role: Java Designer*
*Location: **Los Angeles, CA*
*Duration: 9 months contract*
*MOI: Telephonic + Skype.*
*Role Description:*
Partner with business stakeholders to review and understand business
requirements.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and
architectural design.
• Document and review technical specifications with cross-functional teams.
• Be a subject matter expert in the assigned functional domain.
• Facilitate and lead design review sessions and technical discussions.
• Support the project through entire development lifecycle from initial
kick-off to production deployment.
• Ensure testing of applications and systems.
• Identify departmental needs and make suggestions regarding technical
direction.
• Research emerging trends and technologies.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Proactively identify and suggest architectural improvements in as-is
Systems.
• Create flowcharts, diagrams and other documentation as and when needed
*Skills Required:*
Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Computer Science), Master's degree
preferred.
• 10+ years relevant experience as a Systems Engineer or Solution Architect
in a fast paced environment required.
• Experience in developing and deploying Service Oriented Architecture
(SOA) and web service is a plus. Experience with Oracle Coherence is
preferred.
• Experience in Business Systems Analysis, Requirements Elaboration and
high-level architectural designs.
• Understanding of software development methodologies and structured
approaches to system development is required.
• Leadership qualities, including ability to facilitate technical
discussions with diverse and cross-functional groups, time management,
organizational and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to adapt and
change priorities as the business needs change.
• Experience working with complex heterogeneous systems environments.
• Self-motivated with the ability to make solid technical / business
decisions with minimal managerial direction.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to
tailor communication to the target audience to achieve desired results.
• Understanding of latest trends and technologies including mobile based
applications preferred.
• Understanding of security and/or infrastructure would be a significant
benefit.
• Demonstrated success in working effectively with Program Management,
cross-functional teams and senior management.
