Duration:*24 months*. *Summary:* The main function of a Software Security Engineer is to assess software security by performing security testing, participate in code reviews and work in partnership with software development teams to ensure that appropriate software security controls have been designed and built within applications. Job *Responsibilities:* Perform software security testing at a unit, functional, and system wide level Perform manual and/or automated secure code reviews Lead threat modeling activities Assist development teams in designing, developing and implementing integrated software security solutions Conduct security risk analysis of business and technology projects Participate, as needed, in documenting software security standards, guidelines, policies and procedures Act as Software Security resource on assigned projects Creates reusable software security artifacts Develop and/or deliver software security focused training *Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field8+ years’ experience. Programming/development experience using C#, .NET or other applicable programming experience.QA, test automation, and test design experience Experience performing automated and/or manual code reviews Experience in a group development environment as a software engineer or QA engineer or build/release Engineer Experience with interpreting policies and appropriately applying them to projects Experience writing technology-specific best practices Five (5) years’ experience in software engineering and development with an emphasis on the following: o Delivery of secure, Internet-exposed, multi-tier, web-based systems. o Hands-on experience with full SDL of large-scale, enterprise-wide IT development projects, such as requirements gathering, design patterns, secure coding, QC testing, … • Professional, hands-on development with Java/JEE or C#/.NET. Experience with both a plus. • Two (2) years of experience evaluating the security of applications using both manual and automated techniques. Relevant tool experience should include code security scanners such as Fortify SCA, web vulnerability scanners such as HP WebInspect or IBM Rational AppScan, assessment support tools such as BurpSuite, Metasploit, Core Impact, etc… • One (1) year of experience with Cloud services integration, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Salesforce/Force.com; with knowledge of security considerations for each deployment type (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and respective services (EC2, EMR, S3, Redshift, RDS, …) • One (1) year of experience with Big Data storage and processing service integration such as Cloudera, Hortonworks, Teradata, Twitter Storm, …; and their respective ecosystems such as Hadoop (Hive, HBase, Pig, Oozie, …); either development and/or analysis • Experience providing software architecture security guidance. Developing application threat models and methodically protecting against business logic and design flaws that could introduce security vulnerabilities. • Experience evaluating, implementing and/or administering enterprise encryption infrastructure • Strong written and verbal communication skills (technical reports, whitepapers, presentation development and delivery, ...).
