*Role: Pivotal Big Data Architect*

*Duration: 12 Months Contract*

*POSITION PURPOSE:*


We are seeking motivated professionals with experience in a Solutions/
Development environment. This role is pivotal in assessing business
requirements and providing technical expertise and solution design to end
customers and working sales team in the closing of new business
opportunities. The incumbent will participate in solution sales, pre-sales
opportunities, develop and deliver customer presentations and
demonstrations. S/he needs to work with sales staff to develop proposals,
solution architecture, implementation plans and other technical documents.
Other key areas include conducting application and migration assessment
services, and performing advanced or complex prototyping for Big Data
Analytics.

Your background should include eight to twelve years working in following
capacities:

-      Interpreting and delivering impactful plans that specify strategy
and improve data integration, data quality and data delivery in support of
big data business initiatives and roadmaps to achieve results while

-      Collaborating with end users, development staff, and business
analysts to ensure that prospective data architecture plans maximize the
value of client data across the organization.

-      Articulating architectural differences between big data solution
methods and the advantages/disadvantages of each set standards for data
management and conceive projects needed to eliminate the gap between
current state and future goals.


·         Manage the approval and acceptance process for the technical
architecture in cooperation with the client,

·         Hands-on project, development and deployment/ installation work,
as demanded by the project and client role



You will be responsible to conceptualize customized solutions, services,
process models and POC creation in the area of Big Data Analytics:



·         Work and Partner with business development and Delivery teams to
develop solutions for proposals to meet client needs.

·         Will be responsible for analytic planning and delivery of
modeling results; Expertise in up front design and interpretation and
presentation of results

·         Deliver outstanding, insightful analysis aligned to the analytic
plan and ensuring that client’s central questions/issues are addressed.

·         Contribute to improving the solutions with creative thinking with
regard to conceptual frameworks and analytic techniques.

·         Proactively synthesize learning across multiple sources in order
to deliver compelling stories and, when appropriate, to make
recommendations.

·         Work with and many times lead Solution Sales process to target
accounts in various regions.

·         Support the Deal initiative along with Sales Leads to close &
help win deals.

·         Build Relationship with the Client Executive team during the
pursuit to ensure win.



*Essential Requirement:*

·         Expertise in Business Requirement gathering, Analysis &
conceptualizing high-level architectural framework & Design

·         Must have experience in designing and architecting large scale
distributed applications

·         Thorough understanding of Solution architecting & Estimation
process

·         Prior experience with MPP Database technologies (Greenplum
Database, Netezza, Teradata, or Vertica, etc.) would be an advantage

·         Knowledge of Java frameworks and libraries (Spring, Hibernate,
J2EE, JDBC, JMS, JMX, etc.) would be an advantage

·         Knowledge of in-memory data grids (GemFire, Coherence,
Terracotta, Gigaspaces, etc) would be an advantage

·         High performance mission critical applications based on in-memory
data grids solutions such as Gemfire

·         Very Large scale Data warehouse solutions based on MPP solutions
such as Greenplum Database, Teradata or IBM Netezza

·         Very Large scale “Data lake” solution based on Hadoop

·         Mission critical applications based on Java Spring Framework

·         Excellent consulting skills, oral and written communication,
presentation, and analytical skills. Ability to drive various architecture
and design calls with different stakeholders and lead everyone to the best
possible solution.

·         More than 8+ years of experience designing, architecting Data
Warehousing platforms

·         Excellent knowledge, experience with the Hadoop stack (Hadoop,
Hive, Pig, Hbase, Sqoop, Flume, Spark, Shark, Oozie, etc.).

·         Solid exposure to NoSQL platforms like MongoDB & Cassandra

·         Solid exposure to traditional Data Warehousing, MPP data stores
and experience on at least-one data stores like Redshift, Vertica, SAP Hana.

·         Must have skills on any one of BI tools such as Cognos, BO,
Tableau, Qlikview

·         Must have experience of working on various data integration tools
like Talend, SSIS, Informatica for both ETL as well ELT processing.

·         Excellent knowledge of relational database technologies with
experience on databases such as Oracle or SQL Server.

·         Active involvement in thought leadership Best Practices
development, Written White Papers and/or POVs on Big Data Technology

·         Strong communications and relationship building skills with an
ability to develop and deliver effective presentations

·         Ability to influence and work with all levels of management /
business areas

·         Desired exposure to Java/J2EE, NLP, Stream Processing



*Responsibilities*

*Main responsibilities will be:*

·         Provide Technical architecture design based on Pivotal Platform
stack. Identify gaps and design constraints and provide solutions to
address the gaps.

·         Support on implementing prototypes and solutions based on Design
recommendations using Pivotal Software stack.

·         Present Pivotal product use cases and benefits to stake holders,
implementers, and competing groups. Present customer use cases and product
needs internally to Product Engineering/Management to insure we are
aligning Pivotal product strategy with the needs of our customers.

·         Work with Pivotal Field Engineering and Customer Success to
provide a consensus based enterprise solution that is scalable, adaptable
and in synchronization with the customer’s ever changing business needs.

·         Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies,
standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development,
implementation and use of Information Technology (both Pivotal software as
well as others) within the customer’s enterprise.

·         Build customer knowledge and skills in Pivotal areas of expertise.

·         Supplement product with example and reusable code that customers
can apply to their environments



*Skills and knowledge*

·         Experienced Software Enterprise Architect with demonstrated
skills in designing solutions in at least one of these areas, expertise in
two areas is preferred

·         Systems Thinking - the ability to see how parts interact with the
whole (big picture thinking)

·         Ability to explain complex technical issues in a way that
non-technical people may understand

·         Excellent communication skills – preparation and delivery of
presentations and reports

·         Basic project planning experience

·         Ability to work independently and without supervision

·         Cross Vertical Expertise – subject matter expertise in financial,
internet, retail, government/federal, telecom, etc. Any or all of the above
will be a plus
