JOB DESCRIPTION Require an individual with 5 or more years z/OS DB2 database administration experience with expertise in supporting large-scale 24x7 mainframe operational production subsystems including backup, recovery, maintenance, tuning, performance analysis, capacity planning, resource utilization, online reorganization strategy, DB2 utilities, security, and troubleshooting. Demonstrated experience in z/OS DB2 logical and physical database design. Required - 5 or more years z/OS DB2 database administration experience - Technical expertise in supporting large-scale 24x7 z/OS DB2 operational production subsystems including backup, recovery, maintenance, tuning, performance analysis, capacity planning, resource utilization, reorg strategy, DB2 utilities, security and troubleshooting - Demonstrated experience in z/OS DB2 logical and physical database design; including implementation of the designs and all related DB2 objects (sequences, triggers, indexes, stored procedures) - Expertise in developing, testing and executing z/OS DB2 disaster recovery plans to successfully recover production DB2 subsystems - Experience in participating in z/OS DB2 maintenance and release upgrades - Extensive experience in actively monitoring and tuning large-scale production z/OS DB2 database subsystems to avoid unscheduled outages - Demonstrated subsystem performance proficiency by creating and analyzing z/OS DB2 accounting and statistic reports and making performance improvement recommendations - Considerable experience in Distributed Data Facility (DDF) applications which access z/OS DB2 databases; including configuration and management of DB2 Connect - Broad knowledge in the development and tuning of static and dynamic SQL - Experience in managing data across multiple platforms, including z/OS mainframe and mid-tier WebSphere Application Servers (WAS).
