*Java Developer Center City, PA 12+ Months Contract* *Client: Comcast* *Interview Process:* * Phone followed by Face-to-Face, This client won't accept skype for the final round*. *Applications Integration Java Developer:* The Applications Integration Java Developer will be working on a company-wide enterprise application that will launch nationwide in February. This application is for an internal “idea” portal. The internal application allows users across the company to share their ideas regarding a number of areas including internal processes, technology, product suggestions, and more. The application also offers functionalities similar to other sharing platforms such as a “Like” and “Comment” button. These ideas and read and carefully considered by the Innovation team to take action on those that would be a benefit to the company. This resource will be working to bring together the data pulled from 3 portals across the company to consolidate, create automatic categorization, categorize in MySQL to draw correlations. *Qualifications: *3-5 years professional experience developing core Java / JEE in Eclipse or an Eclipse-like IDE (mandatory) Experience in consuming services within applications to include either SOAP or RESTful services or experience with JSON formats. Experience with HTML Some professional experience with the Groovy / Grails framework Ability to operate within both Windows and Linux Experience interacting with the data layer and wrapping database access within a service Some experience with utilities such as Rally and SVN (nice to have) Experience with Elastic Search and machine learning is also a plus Some experience accessing data within MySQL or any SQL database (very nice to have) Python experience is a plus *Job Details:* Developing core Java/JEE in Eclipse or an Eclipse – like IDE Development of new features that are being added daily and performing programming enhancements that will be to add options like categorization, state change, similarity analysis, automatic replies after idea submission, etc. The features of the application include: The application is made on Grails which utilizes the web framework Groovy. Groovy is an object-oriented framework that is built on the java platform to run web applications in an easier way. The framework facilitates rapid development and easy changes. The application backend will make use of natural language processing to process queries. As for the front end, the team will be utilizing the bootstrap framework to iterate on the user interface and tweak the user experience more effectively. Elastic search correlates ideas and responds to requests. Allows searching of similar ideas. It is used for metrics.
