.Net Developer Los Angeles, CA 6 Months contract Contractor Position: A Software Engineer is responsible for delivering high quality software components on time and within budget. Our customers use these components to manage voter registration systems. These components typically have a significant set of Graphical user Interface (GUI) requirements, in addition to the application requirements. This position requires proficiency in the application of industry-standard software development processes, skills, and procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. • Work under the guidance of software development manager. • Design modules and classes to implement requirements. • Use Microsoft Visual Studio 2010/2012 C#, VB.NET, SQL Server and other programming tools and languages to code, test, and debug software. • Work with existing code sets to enhance functionality or fix problems. • Write design and code documentation to share knowledge with other team members. • Assist with formal Quality Assurance testing as needed. Review test plans for completeness. • Assist with requirements analysis to identify software capabilities. • Provide end user support to resolve production problems as needed. • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlines, prioritize and complete deliverables on time. • Support Microsoft related Technologies related to: Windows Server, Exchange, and internal applications Qualifications • Required proficiency advanced programming techniques and practices. • Required proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (2000-2012) with an emphasis in building complex queries, query optimization, triggers, ad stored procedures. • Certification in SQL Server, VB.NET, or C# a plus. • Experience with Microsoft Windows Forms and Web development. • Experience with Agile software development methodology a plus. • Must effectively write modules to match written requirements. • Knowledgeable of common data structures and algorithms. • Must have demonstrated ability to debug code. • Knowledge and ability to apply Object Oriented Analysis or Structured Analysis. • Must be able to create software designs with clean interfaces, effective use of subroutines, and proper code structure. • Must be able to learn and successfully use additional techniques based on project demands. • Ability to analyze complex problems and to design, implements, and test appropriate solutions to those problems. • Must have demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment. • Must be knowledgeable of the user of Source Code Control tools and processes. *Education and Skills* BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems required Minimum of five (5) years related work experience with an Integrated Development Environment required. (Equivalent industry experience will be considered on a two to one year basis, in lieu of education requirements.) Travel Limited travel (Up to 10%). Language Skills Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write presentations that conform to prescribed style and format. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Skills Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing in an office environment. Must be able to deliver projects with immutable deadlines.
