Req: AUTOMATION ENGINEER @ Eagan, MN (LOCALS preferred)
We are looking for a talented, highly motivated Software Quality Engineer
to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment. As a Software Quality
Engineer, you will be a member of a global team that is responsible for
software quality testing on a variety of applications. You will be
responsible for test planning, test case development and automation coding
using QTP/UFT, while also providing work direction and oversight to a small
(1-3) team of testers.
*Key Responsibilities:*
• Test planning, test case development, and automation for assigned
project(s)
• Identifies, documents and prioritizes test cases to be automated
• Automates documented smoke and regression test cases, using QTP/UFT
• May need to automate some portions of smoke tests using additional
web-based tools
• Partners with Quality Automation Lead(s) to understand Automation
strategy, approach and best practices
• Ensures automation efforts adhere to overall Automation strategy,
approach and best practices
• Executes smoke and regression test cases during release cycles
• Provides metrics upon execution of smoke and regression suites
• Provide direction and oversight to a small (1-3) team of testers located
in Eagan, Sunnyvale, and/or Bangalore
*Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:*
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years of software testing and/or software development experience
working with various technologies including distributed Internet
technologies (Java/J2EE, relational databases, XML, web services, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience automating tests using QTP/UFT
• Experience with vb scripting, HTML and Java
• Working experience or exposure to any automation framework (Key word
driven/Data Driven/Hybrid etc)
• Proven experience in test planning and test case development
• Experience with Agile software development
• Strong technical aptitude and experience with the software tools and
techniques used in automated testing
• Experience working across multiple geographic locations and cultures
• Good inter-team communication with the ability to influence and build
solid relationships with team members
• Works independently within defined parameters, taking ownership of
problems within own area of knowledge.
• Must be motivated; a self-starter, results oriented individual with a
successful track record
