*What we are looking for”* Monitoring engineer supports infrastructure alerting, identify gaps, and make recommendation on how to fix them. this project requires knowledge in three main areas of the infrastructure: (middleware & Database, OS and virtualization, Storage & network) *Required Skills/ years of experience needed:* The Monitoring and Event Management Team is looking for a Monitoring/System Engineer with solid understanding Event Management Framework, Network Monitoring, Storage, Unix/Windows Operating Systems, Relational Databases, and Microsoft System Center Operations Manager. The candidate should be able to understand the core components of technologies above, generate thresholds that are critical to performance of the technologies, and be able to configure SCOM, NetQOS, NetScout, and/or any other monitoring tools. Install and configure monitoring agents on windows and UNIX servers. Analyze event logs /notification data and recommend next appropriate actions Create or modify monitoring dashboards and reports that provide insight into the health status of the infrastructure and Applications of GEICO. Modify or Extend Management Packs to override baseline configuration Working with the customers and team members, you will make necessary configuration changes to improve the monitoring framework. Write scripts to automate repetitive monitoring tasks. Maintain and create checklists and standard operating procedures to document operations and maintenance activities. Successful delivery of assigned tasks while adhering to major milestones and ensuring quality of implementations.
