*Job Title:* Software Engineer - Cisco IP Phone Support and Dev -WLAN
*Location:* US-CA-San Jose
*Duration: *6 months extendable
*Job Description*
1. Participate on a project team of engineers involved in the *Maintenance
and Development of VoIP software for IP Telephony endpoint *products.
2. Require strong background in problem solving including
trouble-shooting, log analysis and code analysis, also in SW design of VOIP
products with expertise of WLAN (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) ,Video, Voice and Data
Networking Architectures and Protocols.
3. The candidate must have very strong teamwork and excellent
communication skills.
*Job Responsibilities *Trouble-shooting complex enterprise customer issues
including recreation, problem isolation, root cause analysis, fix and
verification
Maintain large software of existing IP Telephony Products including
implementing enhancements Resolve complicated design issues, mitigate the
design flaw quickly with no side-effect, esp. in the WLAN areas involving
roaming Work with multiple teams in different time zones around the world
to get the complicated issue resolved quickly and with the highest quality
Setup VOIP system to reproduce customer complaints, especially the
intermittent issues, using scripts or automated tools and support customer
onsite
*Primary Skills:*
·
- *Broad knowledge of products esp. Call Manager, IP Phones (e.g.
69xx/78xx/79xx/88xx/89xx/99xx, et al) and Switch. *
- Industry expert level domain knowledge and experiences *working on
WLAN protocols* (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and 802.11i and 802.11e) and In
depth understanding of wpa supplicant and 802.1x protocols.
- Very strong ability to use Wildpackets and Wireshark to analyze,
debug and quickly understand and isolate the problems and work
solutions or
work-around to resolve *customer’s WiFi issue very quickly. *
- *Be able to be onsite to survey WiFi environment and conduct site
inspection and onsite debug data capture and analysis in real-time. *
- Ability to solve system wide problems with a focus on
Infrastructure, Signaling and Multi-Process/Thread synchronization and
performance in Linux-like environment
- Experiences with more than one of the *LAN/WAN *and network layer
protocols like TCP, HTTP Requires expertise with one or more of the VOIP
signaling protocols SIP, SCCP *Very experienced in C, C++ and Java in
embedded and real-time system and products*
- Very good knowledge in *Java and JVM* fine tuning
- Strong knowledge of advanced software architecture principles and
design practices
- Strong knowledge of data structure, file system and memory mgmt
- Superior problem isolation, identification and bug fixing skills
Solid knowledge and experiences working on Bluetooth, USB, NFC
is strongly
desirable
- Knowledge and experiences working on *Video (H.264/MPEG-4 AVC) and
DSP is a plus*
- Be able to work under high stress and flexible hours
*Secondary Skills:*
Proficiency in English, speaking, and esp. writing, capable of
communicating with native English speakers
Working Experiences with USA based multi-national companies is a strong plus
*Educational Qualifications*
BS in EE, CS or equivalent, with Master's degree preferred
