You will be part of a fast-paced, entrepreneurial Technology team
responsible for developing products designed to drive online spend and
increase card member engagement through the implementation of tech
integrations with Digital Partners in Social Media, Retail and Service
Industries.
You will be challenged with identifying innovative ideas and proof of
concept to deliver against the existing and future needs of our customers.
This is a very exciting opportunity to join an organization leading Digital
Transformation team. This organization leads the technology strategy and
delivery across multiple business units within us, and is responsible for
the delivery of ground breaking digital partnerships leveraging
cutting-edge technology, and enable incredible digital experiences for our
team.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
• Lead an *agile* engineering team that develops monitoring software for
our Digital Partner Applications based on Splunk and complimentary Big Data
technologies
• 7-10 years of full-stack software development experience with core
competencies in various technologies including Java, Unix, JavaScript,
Python, JSON, HTML, CSS, Big Data, APIs, LOG4J
• Hands-on software development of intuitive dashboards with a variety of
graphical visualizations, efficient and reusable *Splunk* searches, custom
platform related features and system integrations
• Engineering contact for the team to troubleshoot and drive resolution for
monitoring platform issues across technology stacks including Splunk,
Digital Partner Applications and Big Data components
• Partner with Product Owners to prioritize user stories for ongoing
sprints and maintain a product backlog based on industry trends, new
technologies, software defects and enhancements
• Drive quality and continuous improvement through the product and team
with industry best practices
• Manage and appropriately escalate challenges and risks to initiatives and
timelines
• Identify and prototype innovative concepts to create opportunities and
resolve challenges
Required Qualifications
• 2-3 years experience designing and implementing Splunk-based best
practice solutions
• Deep understanding of Splunk including indexers, forwarders, search
heads, configuration files, apps, searches, data models, dashboards,
visualizations alerts and user roles
• Ability to develop complex Splunk dashboards and visualizations using
queries and simple XML
• Experience developing payment, telecommunications or other real-time,
high volume monitoring systems
• Experience leading engineers from inception through implementation while
being hands-on
• Ability to coordinate activities with multiple teams spread across
various geographical locations
• Strong leadership and judgment in executing under tight deadlines and
competing priorities
• Strong technical aptitude with an intense desire to learn new skills and
keep abreast of industry trends
• Collaborative work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented culture
• Passionate about creating great technology products
*Desired Qualifications:*
• Hands-on experience implementing web applications and API services using
REST
• Experience developing highly scalable and available java based
applications
• Working knowledge of http(s), tcp/ip and ssh protocols
• Experience in profiling and analyzing application performance
