*Need: VMware Server Engineer. **Someone that is strong in VMware.*
*Rate: $40/hr. {MAXXX} *
*Location: Boston, MA. *
*Duration: 6 months. *
*Responsibilities: *
· Self-service, VMware Lab Manager environment;
· VMware Desktop Virtualization solution; Robust ESX performance
management process / tools enhancement; Enhanced backup / recovery solution
using VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB);
· Enhanced DR solution; Possibly using Site Recovery Manager (SRM);
Reliable, repeatable VM Migration process using VMware Converter to enable
virtual to virtual and physical to virtual migrations;
· Capacity Management Reporting; Technology refresh vSphere 4.x
planning/migrations, server/storage updates;
· In addition to project-based work, the VMware Engineer will also
be responsible for maintaining a high level of service in the current VMware
environments by providing level 3 support; Level 3 support includes working
with vendor, if necessary, to resolve issues that impact the VMware service
(including performance, availability and reliability).

*Desired Skills: *
· The successful candidate will have a Bachelor degree in Computer
Science or related field.
· The VMware Engineer candidate will be VMware Certified
Professional (VCP) preferably for vSphere 4.x;
· Proven track record of successfully engineering/launching projects
involving technologies listed above for a large enterprise;
· Operations experience supporting ESX for a large enterprise;
· Expert level understanding of VMware ESX (vSphere) and at least
one of the following: o VMware Performance Management o VMware Consolidated
Backup o V2V, P2V Process technical and business process flows;
· Large-scale migrations;
· VMware Lab Manager;
· VMware View;
· Exceptional technical writing skills (run books, DR plans,
platform architecture, etc.);
· Familiar with storage/backup technologies including: o IBM SAN
Volume Controller (SVC) o NetApp storage o Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM);
· Familiar with the latest developments in Cloud Computing.
