Responsibilities include working on a wide variety of VMware projects to engineer the following: - Self-service, VMware Lab Manager environment - VMware Desktop Virtualization solution - Robust ESX performance management process / tools enhancement - Enhanced backup / recovery solution using VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB) - Enhanced DR solution - possibly using Site Recovery Manager (SRM) - Reliable, repeatable VM Migration process using VMware Converter to enable virtual to virtual and physical to virtual migrations - Capacity Management Reporting - Technology refresh ¿ vSphere 4.x planning/migrations, server/storage updates; In addition to project-based work, the VMware Engineer will also be responsible for maintaining a high level of service in the current VMware environments by providing level 3 support.
