Required Skills: · *10+ years as a primary Oracle Database Administrator.* · Knowledge of clustering or RAC concepts. · Oracle ASM/GRID/RAC (11gR2) · Installing, patching, upgrading and maintaining database environments. · Performance tuning and advanced troubleshooting skills both at the database and stored code (e.g. PL/SQL blocks, T/SQL blocks, stored procedures etc.). · Proficient with third party backup software for backup and recovery. · Ability to automate using scripting technologies. · Sizing, space management using home grown or third party software. · Excellent to outstanding written and verbal communication skills. · The ability to manage multiple concurrent issues with minimal supervision & direction. · Ability to quickly learn and adapt to changes in database technology · Be a mentor to the team and provide career guidance. · Ability to support and maintain other non-database components like web servers and application servers. Preferred Skills: · SQL Server knowledge. · Manage budgets for resources, software and maintenance. · UNIX administration. · Knowledge of advanced replication technologies within the database and those offered by other vendors. · Understanding of storage technologies like NAS and SAN and associated features for database technologies like cloning and snapshots. · Previous experience in working and managing offshore IT resources preferred.
