This is a fast paced organization that supports a broad spectrum of
business products. We are seeking a skilled IBM ODM rule
Development Engineer to play a key role in the Rule development that will
support various business organizations. The Senior Software Developer is a
technical rule designer /author with strong analytical skills and has the
ability to work as an individual or in a team environment. The ideal
candidate will be an organized, energetic, innovative and proactive working
easily in a SCRUM environment.
Generic Rules Engine team is currently seeking an energetic and motivated
Senor Software Engineer / Leader with a passion for delivering high quality
solutions to our customers. As a Senior Software Engineer you will have
the opportunity to leverage all of your skill in the area of software
analysis, design, and development.
*Primary Responsibilities:*
- The ODM Developer would need to have technical expertise in the
design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of Rules Projects and
ensures that projects meets or exceed specified standards and end-user
requirements.
- As a member of the scrum team you’ll have an opportunity to leverage
your skills and knowledge to contribute to the team’s success
- You will be expected to provide technical guidance to other engineers
on the delivery team
- Work with architects, technologists and business partners to deliver
quality, innovative solutions
- Provide assistance, direction and coordination etc. to ensure project
success
- Develop an understanding of the business domain in order to
participate in discussions, planning, and provide feedback to drive the
team and product forward
*Education and Experience:*
- Bachelor's degree or technical degree required
- Successful candidates will have 5+ years’ experience in development of
rule engine or in complex rule development (IBM ODM, JRules, iLog).
- Experience in working on ODM with Websphere.
- Solid knowledge and expertise in IBM ODM 8.X version, Java, J2EE
(WebSphere Application Server), Web Services, XML, DB (Oracle or other),
Unix/Linux, COBOL and JCL.
- Hands-on experience and a passion for working within an agile (scrum,
XP, Kanban, etc.) development environment
- Experience with Mainframe applications is a plus.
- Financial services industry experience is a plus.
- Experience in testing automation a plus
*Skills and Knowledge:*
- The ODM Developer would need to have technical expertise in the
design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of Rules Projects and
ensures that projects meets or exceed specified standards and end-user
requirements.
- Experience in working business users in harvesting/mining rule
requirements.
- Experience in development of rule engine or in complex rule
development (IBM ODM, JRules, iLog).
- Strong communications skills to effectively communicate at different
levels of management.
- Strong knowledge of web services and HTDS services development
- Experience of test driven development with DVS and XML.
- Experience in a continuous integration environment
- This candidate must be able to elicit and communicate key
requirements, they will need to be someone who can foster teamwork and a
spirit of collaboration and commitment within the project team
- Need to have strong collaboration, communication and engagement skills
and be expected to articulate and document business and system requirements
- Must have a flexible attitude and be able to comfortably accommodate
change
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including User
Stories, technical writing, facilitation, and the ability to clearly
receive and convey information to a broad array of technical and
non-technical people
- High level of learning agility, ability to adapt to new technologies
very quickly.
