*Req:Sr. Systems Engineer @ Rockville, MD (Locals/F2F)*
Location: Rockville, MD (Phone then Face/face)
Duration: 12-36 months+
*10 years’ experience in CICS system support involving large 24x7
operations in a high volume CICSPLEX environment*
*Experience with CICSPLEX features to include system management using the
Web User Interface, Work Load Management, and Real Time Analysis.*
*Experience with CICS features to include MRO, Coupling Facility Data
Queues, DB2 connections, MQ connections, DBCTL connections, Threadsafe, and
SOAP Web Services *
Monitor CICS Production environment for performance slowdowns and
application errors. Follow up on exceptions in SYSVIEW, Abend-Aid, or
internal dashboards.
Install and test maintenance on CICS and vendor support products as
required.
Support the application release process from final testing to Production
implementation.
Answer queries from application development teams regarding coding best
practices, resource definition requests, application planning, and testing.
Monitor lower environments for errors or problems and address with affected
application teams as needed.
*Required Skills/ years of experience needed:*

*Desired Skills:*
Knowledge of Compuware CICS tools to include Xpediter and Abend-Aid.
Knowledge of Endevor source code management software
Knowledge of CA SYSVIEW or equivalent monitoring tool.
Familiarity with z/OS products and concepts to include ZFS, ISHELL, VSAM,
RACF, RACF Certificate Store, and IOF
Familiarity with programming languages and concepts such as COBOL,
ASSEMBLER, C, JAVA, XML, HTML, and SOAP
