*Position: Jr. - Mid Systems Administrator* *Location: Englewood, CO* *Status: 6-month contract* *Rate - $**40/hr. C2C* This is a Jr Sys Admin position on the QA team that supports Networking Services cable production that consists of all engineering. Responsible for testing, evaluation, integration and configuration of DOCSIS provisioning, and DNS platforms. *DOCSIS not required but nice to have. Need Unix/Linux Administrator with network protocols and preferable telecom and/or cable industry experience*. *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS* - Experience activating and maintaining customer premise equipment (CPE) per the DOCSIS and PacketCable specifications - Experience with configuration of CPE using the TR-069 and related specifications - Strong comprehension of the DHCP, DNS, SNMP, and TFTP protocols - Ability to maintain and administer UNIX-based (*nix, Solaris, Linux) computer networks and related computing environments including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations. - Basic experience with performance tuning, package installation, patch management updates, network and server management issues - Basic knowledge of troubleshooting tools (i.e tcpdump, netstat, iostat, traceroute, snoop) - Basic experience with system monitoring applications (Nagios, Solarwinds, HP OpenView, etc). - Solid understanding of LAN/WAN topology, network protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, NFS), switches and firewalls *ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:* - *Responsible for testing, evaluation, integration and configuration of DOCSIS provisioning, and DNS platforms.* - Ability to accomplish activities related to system design, equipment configuration and installation, integration, testing and service validation prior to commercial deployment. - Develop documentation related to design and proper configuration of system components. - Troubleshoot and analyze software, and networking configurations for internal lab teams and operations. - Ability to transfer knowledge to division and field engineering personnel as necessary to insure the timely deployment of new technology. - Represent business interests in a wide variety of settings and relationships including company management, business partners, and equipment vendors. - Be a contributor for TR-069 technologies including defining Charter specifications for CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP). Define custom models between customer-premises equipment (CPE) and Auto Configuration Servers (ACS).Position includes standardizing auto configuration and the control of other CPE management functions within an integrated framework.
