Urgent requirement for the position of *Network Engineer for Contract opportunity in Wheeling, WV.* *JOB DESCRIPTION:* *Title: *Network Engineer * Location: *Wheeling, WV *Duration: *6 months *Interview: Face to face (F2F) In-person* *Qualifications:* - *Bachelor’s degree* or *equivalent* work experience required. - *Five plus years* of experience in the areas of *Network Operations*. This can include a combination of *Network Administration (LAN, WAN, routing and switching*). - Experience with *DNS and DHCP in a corporate *environment is required. - Knowledge of content and *proxy devices* including *Riverbed and Bluecoat.* - Knowledge of *Cisco devices; VPN, Cisco ASA, switches (Layer 2 and 3), routers* and *routing protocols such as BGP*. - Knowledge of *TCP/IP packet* analysis using *Wireshark or raw packet captures using tcpdump*. - Proficiency with *firewalls and other security measures*. - Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively with firm partners, employees, and IT staff. - Good organizational skills; ability to respond to multiple priorities and meet varying deadlines; ability to coordinate projects involving input from multiple participants. - Rapidly respond to emergency situations including direct response as well as coordination of other IT staff, both during and outside normal business hours. The Network Engineer II is a non-exempt position that with minimal supervision will provide technical assistance and support in *Cisco Switching & Routing, Riverbed WAN Optimization, Citrix, Cisco AnyConnect, Aruba access points, Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor, and Bluecoat Proxy*. CCNA/CCNP/CCIE certification is a plus. The Network Engineer’s role is to troubleshoot WAN, Internet connectivity and general network issues. The Network Engineer will provide WAN hardware/software engineering support, WAN hardware/software user support along with monitoring WAN performance and performs necessary network maintenance and upgrades as needed. The Network Engineer is expected to make recommendations to ensure compliance with business continuity plan. The Network Engineer will recommend and maintain network related customer support processes and procedures to provide timely and efficient customer support. Continually reviews, identifies and suggests improvements to existing processes and system efficiency and effectiveness. The network engineer ensures that network performance is optimized. *Responsibilities:* - Ensure enterprise network complies with industry standards. - Keep internal networks running smoothly. - Monitor network usage, anticipate problems and suggest solutions. - Provide network documentation. - Coordinate and collaborate with other IT departments to ensure availability, reliability, and scalability of corporate networks to meet business demands. - Conduct research on networks and network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the industry.
