The company is growing quickly and is looking for someone who thrives in a
fast-paced environment while maintaining superb attention to detail. A
strong candidate will be someone who is constantly cultivating new ideas
and methods to improve our processes and better serve our clients.
In this role, candidates will work with multiple tools, primarily SQL, to
build and support data service operations to help our clients improve data
integrity and provide reporting solutions to drive business decisions. The
candidate should have 5-10 years of experience in working with (custom)
data service applications that extract, transform, modify, normalize, and
clean data to produce data sets for analysts.
- Work as part of the Engineering team to build and maintain core
systems that perform data operations for our clients which include:
- Lead the implementation and transition of clients to SQL Server
core system
- Design and development of new client solutions
- Maintain key integration data flows from our clients’ systems to
our data warehouse
- Diagnose operational breakdowns in the data flow escalated from the
production team and lower engineering resources (Tier 3 support)
- Lead the transition of client projects from development to
operations
- Work with client managers to provide business analyst services
including:
- Gathering business requirements
- Develop functional descriptions and mapping to SQL procedures
- Develop and lead functional and UAT testing
- Candidates should be able to completely own deliverables after a short
ramp up time
*Desired Skills:*
- 5-10 years of SQL experience with ability to:
- Troubleshoot data loading and transformation procedures to resolve
operational issues
- Understand & develop stored procedures (SPOC’s)
- Write export definitions and test outcomes
- Solid experience in database operations and/or data warehouses,
particularly those based on SQL Server
- Ability to quickly learn db structure, table layout and production
processes
- Have an “application” view to conceptualize processes from
end-to-end
- Ability to detect and diagnose issues with data services
- Develop and support core Data Warehouse functions
- Business Analyst skills to
- Record, assess and document business requirements
- Develop functional designs given understanding of systems of record
and current data infrastructure
- Lead client interactions in the design and development phase
- Advanced Excel skills including:
- Pivot tables
- Pivot tables formulas
- Working knowledge of macros
- Table functions
- Tableau experience is a plus, but not required
- Organizational skills and high attention to quality and detail
