Location: Chicago, IL Start Date: March 8th Interview Process: - Brief 15 minute phone screen with the Director of Enterprise Reporting and Architecture - In Person interview with technical team Client is looking for a Sr. Cognos Report Developer. They will be * converting reports in Crystal Reports and Brio to Cognos 8.4*. This person will need to have *excellent communication skills* GATX is looking for an experienced Cognos report developer to help convert legacy reports from Brio and Crystal to Cognos. The candidate must have senior-level experience with Cognos v8.4 Report Studio and SQL/Oracle skills. Brio and Crystal experience is a big plus. *Here are the desired skills and their relevance to the role:* - Cognos 8.4 Report Development (Senior level) – must have - SQL/Oracle experience – must have - Cognos 8.4 Framework Manager modeling and design – strong plus - Exposure to Crystal Reports and Brio reporting tools – strong plus - Cognos 8.4 Administration and Support (including security administration / single sign-on with Siteminder/LDAP) – a plus - Cognos 8.4 SDK (Java) / Cognos integration with custom Java apps – a plus - Cognos 8.4 Virtual View Manager experience (Composite Server) - nice to have The individual will most importantly need to be at an expert level in Cognos Report Development. We have a current contractor on this team that the new member of the team will be partnering with to complete this conversion initiative. The initiative involves retiring the legacy reporting platforms and converting to Cognos. The consultant will also interact with the business users to manage the conversion expectations, do some testing, and train the business once the conversion is complete. Overall the candidate could progress into a long term member of the team to design documentation for an extensible application development framework based on the Cognos 8.4. It will also include code releases, documentation specifying proper use, maintenance, and testing. Therefore would prefer an individual that could convert to permanent. Needs to be an energetic, go-getter that will be collaborative with the team. Communication skills are very important.
