Role: Java Developer Location: Harrisburg, PA - (NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE candidates Only) Duration: 3-6 Months *Rate: $40/hr on C2C* The candidate will serve as a Java developer to design, implement, and deploy the comprehensive custom server-side enterprise software solutions for the mobile devices to be utilized by PennDOT. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and application support including troubleshooting and best practices. The selected candidate is expected to understand the business and technical requirements, and implement the solutions based on those requirements. Specific Duties: Serve as a developer of n-tier applications using Java, Spring framework, and ORMs such as MyBatis. Develop, test, and deploy web interface, service tier and data tier components for complex applications, including server-based web applications and RESTful and SOAP web services. Participate in the full SDLC process (including coding) of client/server application solutions, including Java, HTML, JSON, XML and web services. Participate in design and coding of database objects in relational databases such as IBM DB2, including queries, stored procedures, views, triggers, etc. Participate in design and coding of application-embedded, scheduled and ad-hoc reporting solutions. Must have good knowledge of common design patterns. Understand and follow best practices of enterprise level client/server Java applications. Meet with end users and technical staff of all types to gather business and system requirements. Provide technical assistance and assist with mentoring of PennDOT staff assigned to the project. All projects follow the Agile sprint methodology, and the selected candidate should be comfortable with daily standups, sprint grooming and planning activities, integration testing, and UAT. Work independently and as a part of a team. Required / Desired Skills Full SDLC experience as an application developer Experience with developing applications using any or all Java/J2EE technologies Experience in developing Java-based server-side applications and deploying applications onto application servers Experience with relational database development using SQL. Experience with different IDEs like IBM RSA, Eclipse 3.0, JBuilder and applications servers like IBM Websphere Experience in developing top-down and bottom-up JAX-WS and JAX-RS Restful web services Developed applications based on Spring Framework Developed applications using ORM Frameworks like Hibernate or MyBatis.
