The candidate should have a passion for research, care deeply about academia, and be a leader in driving the engineering efforts behind the latest flagship project, an AI-powered knowledge graph of research publications, people, topics, journals, conferences, and universities. The aim is to redefine productivity for an academic audience and to create more personal computing experiences. These experiences will be fueled by a vast and growing academic knowledge graph as well as through social experiences on the site and through the mobile app. The team is a part of Research and is involved with building out a search engine website that you can best think of something as LinkedIn for researchers. This group partners very closely with the Bing to help develop their application and usability. The candidate in this role will be responsible for working with roughly 8 developers for this project as well as 5+ members of the data science team. The reason for this role is that this team has been growing and this group now dictates having a program manager. This is a new role for the team, so part of the position may change. Where the team envisions this role is to spend a lot of time with the group so that they are very collaborative and working hand in hand with the team. This group works very heavily with artificial intelligence and is working on implementing a large amount of AI bots that can help the user experience. There are not very many groups that get the opportunity to work with these types of programs *Responsibilities* Create the functional specification, requirements and/or scope that will be used as a tool in making decisions as to how the product, service and/or project will be implemented. Interface with clients, as required, on technical matters and/or project subject matters from project initiation through delivery. Provide technical and/or analytical information to Product Managers, as required. Organize cross functional activities ensuring that the program is completed on schedule and within budget constraints. May manage/oversee project. Collaborating with the rest of the engineering team to prioritize features and to establish execution plan. Delivering on scenarios, features, and acceptance criteria for each sprint. Managing risks and schedule to ensure timely delivery of the most appropriate features. Work across the engineering and marketing team boundaries to build trust and align to achieve common goals. *Qualifications *Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years’ relevant experience. 6+ years’ experience with software project implementation and release. Experience with Azure and modern web design/implementation; modern UX frameworks, such as HTML, JavaScript, and Azure, are nice to have. A good working knowledge of social media sites. Experience in agile methodologies and multiple product/service shipping cycles. Self-driven and able to keep things moving forward with minimal direction.
