(2)System Engineer rate: (2)System admin rate: Systems Engineers Job Summary: The Systems Engineer III provides expert engineering approaches for IT Infrastructure. The primary responsibility will be working the Application Owners and Enterprise Architects to gather Application resource requirements and map that to Server and Storage resources that will need to be provisioned. Candidate needs to have experience designing and provisioning Server Resources. Actual solutions and designs are generally focused on multiple desktop and server operating systems, multiple desktop and server hardware platforms, storage management, virtualization and loadbalancing components. The Systems Engineer III also provides mentorship and technical expertise to less experienced engineers. The Systems Engineer III develops strong peer relationship with Enterprise Architects, working together to create solution designs that align with the technology roadmap for the enterprise. Responsibilities: 1. Evaluate, design, build, and document complex client server hardware/software solutions consistent with established standards. 2. Perform capacity planning, performance tuning and optimization when required for established systems. 3. Provide technical direction based on engineering's involvement with enterprise architecture. Set new standards to satisfy the enterprise technical roadmap. 4. Provide Tier III support in support of lower level engineers & system administrators 24/7 for issues escalated to the highest level of support. Engage external vendor support as required. 5. Perform as a subject matter expert for client server technologies in use at Premera, as well as remain knowledgeable in leading industry trends and technologies. 6. Make recommendations to management with regard to new third-party tools to meet evolving business requirements. 7. Lead and manage projects in collaboration with architecture and other IT teams to ensure that business requirements are met. 8. Take an active role in problem management where a change in the engineered design and/or architecture may resolve a root cause for a problem. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related area of study or four (4) years’ experience. 2. Seven (7) years of IT related engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications: 1. Technical Certifications in the following Areas: VMWare VCP, Cisco UCS Servers and Management, EMC Storage 2. Experience with any or all of the following: VMWare vCenter, VMWare vRealize, UCS Manager and UCS Director, Server Provisioning both Virtual and Bare Metal, F5 LTM. System Administrator Job Summary: Provide senior-level expertise of 2nd and 3rd-level technical support, integration engineering and systems administration activities for business-critical client/server, middleware and/or mainframe applications, hardware or operating systems. The primary responsibility will be working the Infrastructure Operations teams to support Infrastructure for Production Applications. Candidate needs to have experience provisioning and troubleshooting Server Resources. Experience with VMWare vCenter, UCS Manager and a working knowledge of HP Server and EMC Storage infrastructure is required. Independently perform systems/problem analysis in concert with dependent IT departments, and affected customers. Respond quickly and effectively to customer inquiries and requests concerning systems capabilities. Follow troubleshooting processes, creating and documenting new processes. Act as an internal systems consultant to other IT teams and customers. Utilize problem management tracking tools to communicate and record technical issues associated with production applications, hardware or operating systems. Define work to junior and peer Systems Administrators and Engineers. Job Responsibilities: 1. Respond to client/server, middleware and/or mainframe applications, hardware or operating systems-based issues. 2. Lead team members in troubleshooting and performing root-cause analysis for resolving problems that have multiple dependencies (PC workstations, servers, network, databases, software products, telephony, etc). 3. Utilize tracking tools to ensure proper communication and documentation. 4. Define proper team change management practices and communication of upcoming work to customers and team members. 5. Develop and update test plans and processes for software/hardware configuration modifications and upgrades. Conduct testing, and document results. 6. Develop documentation and participate in planning meetings, often acting as liaison between applications developers, customers and other IT team members. 7. Take appropriate actions to ensure minimal amount of systems disruption to customers. 8. Consult with project managers, developers, DBAs, customers and fellow staff members on implementation of business applications, hardware or operating systems. 9. Provide after-hours and weekend support where necessary, in a 24/7 system-availability model. 10. Work collaboratively with senior Systems Administrators and Engineers with projects, including recurring work of client/server, middleware and/or mainframe applications, hardware or operating systems enhancements. 11. Manage significant IT projects, including recurring work and software/hardware enhancements. Oversee phases to ensure timely completion of projects. 12. Audit and definition of environments. 13. Definition of systems monitoring and diagnostics, creating standard work for the team. 14. Work directly with business customers to identify requirements and create technical solutions in concert with Architecture, to satisfy those requirements. Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field or four (4) years’ work experience. 2. Five (5) years’ work experience in technical support, administration and engineering of client/server, middleware and/or mainframe applications, hardware or operating systems. Preferred Qualifications: 1. One or more of the following certifications: VCP 3. Technical lead-type training experience. 4. Exposure to large-scale, clustered systems. 5.
