*Duration*: 6+ months *Type*: Hourly contract *Job description:* *9+years ONLY* *General Responsibilities:*Quality Assurance Analyst will work with the existing QA team and will be responsible for supporting the overall quality of various software systems and applications. The work involves testing software applications, mobile apps on different types of devices, reporting defects, entering defects in the tracking tool and tracking their progress. This person will be asked to work on multiple projects and environments. *Specific Responsibilities:* - Executing testing of various software applications in accordance with the test cases provided . - Executing testing of mobile apps, Set Top Boxes and Cable modems. - Writing test plans and test cases in accordance with the functional requirements, detail specifications, and project plans provided. - Responsible for promptly communicating any issues/findings to the team. - Responsible for creating defects in Rational Team Concert and tracking defects. - Responsible for documentation of test scenarios, work flows, user guides and technical specifications. - Creating and maintaining comprehensive supporting documentation relating to the testing process for deployed software. - Work closely with the QA and development teams and other departments within the company and with external vendors as needed. - Work in a rapidly changing environment and being able to multi-task efficiently and switch between multiple projects with ease. *Preferred Experience/Skills:* - A Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience. - Candidate must possess keen attention to detail and excellent analytical skills . - Good communication skills, both oral and written in order to interact constructively with the development /QA teams and vendors. - A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. - The ability to work constructively with other people and be a contributor in a team environment. - Knowledge of QA methodology and the software development lifecycle. - A background in telecommunications or cable TV is preferred.
