*JOB DESCRIPTION:*
• Develops, codes, tests and debugs new moderately complex software
solutions or enhancements to existing software in a maintenance capacity.
Has good understanding of business application.
• Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and
resolve them.
• Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions
for improvements and enhancements.
• May assist in development of software technical documentation.
• Designs and codes moderately complex applications using routine and/or
advanced technology.
• May create optimization programs to resolve problems.
• May design and build prototype applications.
*REQUIRED SKILLS:*
• Proven 9+ years history as a Business Intelligence/Analytics developer
working in an enterprise environment
• Advanced development experience with IBM Cognos Analytics, preferably
version 11
• Advanced experience developing with Cognos Report Studio
• Intermediate/Advanced experience developing with Cognos Dashboards,
Active Reports, Workspace Advanced, Event Studio, Metric Studio, and other
Cognos tools
• Advanced experience creating Framework Manager metadata models
• Intermediate/Advanced experience creating Dimensional models (DMR, Cubes)
• Intermediate/Advanced experience creating Cognos security models (row
level, parameter maps, etc)
• Functional/advanced understanding of relational databases (Teradata,
Vertica, Oracle) and Hadoop ecosystem (Big Data)
• Proficiency in theoretical and practical knowledge of data warehousing
and data modeling
• Proficiency in Data Analysis, Data Profiling, and SQL Tuning
• Highly skilled in SQL technologies (writing, reviewing, tuning)
• Use of data architecture and profiling methods to analyze data sources
• Broad experience with OLAP/OLTP concepts and terminology
• Intermediate/Advanced experience in Data Visualization and User
Experience Design
• Excellent problem solving skills, logical process thinking, and
end-to-end system concepts
• Proficiency in translating business requirements to project design,
development, and execution
*PREFERRED SKILLS:*
• Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) using Talend, Oracle
Data Integrator (ODI) or similar tools such as BODI, Informatica, Data
Stage, SSIS, or related technologies
• Experience customizing RAVE visualizations using Cognos VizJSON editor
• Knowledge of Web Technologies such as HTML, CSS, Javascript
• Demonstrated knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• Experience in XML/Web Services technologies
• Proficient with Java programming language and various Java EE
technologies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Linux operating systems
