Job Role:*MySQL Developer* Location: West Valley City, UT Duration: 6+months *MUST BE GC/USC** – NO H1-B’s* *Interview Process: Phone + Skype/WebEx* *What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position?* - Ensure performance, scalability, security, and availability of MySQL databases - Prepare documentation, best practices, and specifications - Work as an expert on MySQL implementation and design - Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary - Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders - Provide guidance and expertise on tuning MySQL implementation - Help engineering teams migrate from Oracle to MySQL *What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities?* - Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git / SVN - E/R Diagraming tools - MySQL Workbench *What skills/attributes are a must have?* - Strong proficiency in MySQL database management, minimum 5 years - Experience with recent versions of MySQL - Understanding of MySQL’s underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and RocksDB - Experience with replication configuration in MySQL - Knowledge of de-facto standards and best practices in MySQL - Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements - Knowledge of MySQL features, such as its event scheduler - Experience on architecting and designing MySQL databases - Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB - Knowledge of limitations in MySQL and their workarounds in contrast to other popular relational databases *What skills/attributes are nice to have?* Experience and understanding of Oracle -- Thanks & Regards *Teja* Zodiac Solutions Inc.
