Position : Security Analyst Location : Woodlawn, MD Duration : 6Months+ Contract certification AND accreditation AND (fisma OR "Federal Information Security Management Act") AND (nist OR "National Institute of Standards and Technology") AND cissp AND securit*MUST have C&A experience and FISMA and NIST knowledge and experience working within those guidelines.Communication skills must be EXCELLENT. Position Description: A Security Specialist to assist the Chief Information Security Officer in researching and updating security policies. Assist with the support for the Fiscal Year 2010 (FY10) Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) report FISMA and to support the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process. Skills Requirements: Must have excellent writing and communications skills, must be able to function in a high exposure environment, must be able to work in a team environment and an intermediate/Advanced (preferred) knowledge and use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Tools Must be familiar with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) documentation, in particular, SP 800-53, Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations, Revision 3 August 2009. In addition, the Information Technology (IT) Security Specialist/Analyst should be able to address the following topics thoroughly: Access Control, Authentication, Authorization Technologies, Methods and Techniques Applications and Systems Development Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, Cryptography Law, Investigation and Ethics Additionally, a Security Specialist/Analyst should be able to implement security policy, identify security threats, and develop countermeasures using firewall systems and attack-recognition technologies. Education and Certifications: A list of some possible certifications that is desirable but not required: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification is designed to recognize mastery of an international standard for information security and understanding of the Common Body of Knowledge (CBK).
