Job Description: 

This is a technical role and is accountable for the delivery of migration of
Hosts from Current array and switch infrastructure to newer Array and Switch
technology.

 

 Responsibilities include: 

 

      Develops and deliveries migration solutions based on strategic
direction/design as articulated by Wachovia Storage Engineering.

      Design and planning of migration activities including Fabric to
Fabric, Array to Array and Server to Server migrations.

      Deployment of storage infrastructure based on strategies, policies,
and procedures developed by Lead Architect. 

      Assist Server Admin with activities as they pertain to Host based
migrations

      Insure that storage solution is robust, reliable, and provides solid
platform for applications. 

      Knowledge and understanding of disaster recovery methodologies and
best practices.

      Clear reporting of progress of Storage Migrations. 

 

 

Requirements

 

      Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in all types of storage technologies
including EMC, Clariion, McDATA and Cisco SAN Switches. 

      Senior Experience in delivering array to array, Fabric to Fabric and
Server to Server migrations.

      Detailed trouble shooting knowledge or experience of Host based
migration tools like TDMF or Open Migrator.

      Detailed understanding of EMC array configuration or equivalent OEM
and ability to assess array performance and layout in a Raid 5 or Raid 1
environment as it pertains too specific customer requests.

      Understanding of many Operating System platforms including Win2K, AIX,
HPUX, Sun Solaris and SUSE Linux and how each performs in a SAN environment.

      Senior level Storage trouble-shooting skills.

      Demonstrated Proficiency with EMC array configuration and trouble
shooting tools and software including SYMM CLI, ECC and Workload Analyzer.
