Professional experience scaling, performance tuning and securing high-traffic websites Design, write and deliver architecture to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of the retailers Web Services. Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-scale distributed systems. Conduct periodic on call duties Characterize end-to-end system performance from application to infrastructure to hardware. *Education, Skills and Experience:* 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (minimum), 8+ years of experience 2. Strong experience in *Linux kernels*, *shell scripting*, n-tier eCommerce architecture & design 3. Experience with programming languages (*Java*); experience with *JavaScript *is a plus 4. Direct performance tuning experience with *web services*, *DB *and *applications* 5. Experience with *AWS*, *Rackspace *and cloud performance monitoring tools and content delivery networks like *Akamai*, *Scene7* 6. *Infrastructure *automation experience(e.g.: Chef, Terraform, Vagrant) 7. Strong knowledge of *networking *(e.g.: F5 load balancers, Ip tables, routers) 8. *Build tools *proficiency (e.g. Maven, Ant) 9. *Continuous integration* tools (e.g. Jenkins, Cruise Control). 10. *SCM *tools (e.g. Git, Mercurial) 11. Knowledge of *browser profilers *(e.g. Firebug, PageSpeed) 12. Must be experienced with *performance test *tools such as DynaTrace, LoadRunner, Neoload, Locust, JMeter, etc. 13. Direct Experience *profiling* and *performance *analysis expertise with a track record of optimization 14. Ability to multi-task and balance competing requirements and work 15.
