*Duration*: 6+ months contract *VISA status* : EAD/GC/ USC *Interview: *Phone / Skype *Skills Required: *The Power BI Data Analyst must be able to elicit, document, analyze and convert requirements into queries and stored procedures spanning disparate databases with multiple table joins while applying complex business rules to present district data in the form of reports and dashboards for management review and decisions. Microsoft Power BI is the district standard business intelligence tool for this work and the candidate must minimally have intermediate level expertise using Power BI. The candidate will design and develop tabular data sets, reports and applications using Power BI that are fully tested and debugged. The Power BI Data Analyst must have experience in developing Power BI management decision dashboards across multiple educational business units. Must have experience with data warehousing and relational database concepts, as well as, Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, MDX/DAX and Azure. Business analytics experience with SAAS-SQL analysis services and SSIS-SQL integration services is preferred. Must be a self-motivated, delivery-oriented person who can schedule and facilitate elicitation sessions and ensure the output meets the operational requirements and are completed as per project schedule. Core Competencies: · Strong SQL experience is a must, including stored procedures, data analysis, and data manipulation in SQL · Experienced and proficient user of MS Power BI and other BI Tools, such as COGNOS and Microsoft Reporting Services along with analysis services to create end user reporting or similar tools · Must be quality minded and able to test/verify work · Solid analytical and problem solving skills · Organized and detail-oriented; able to work well under deadlines in a changing environment and perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently *Role:* Tasks include but are not limited to the following activities: · Act as subject matter expert to continually align the district data to meet DPSCD’s changing requirements for the development of reports, dashboards, KPI scorecards and visualizations · Responsible for coordinating with DPSCD IT and business executives and functional groups to deliver projects and present designs that utilize the dimensional model · Obtain working knowledge of operational objectives by studying various business functions and data stores, design, data warehousing, BI tools, develop custom applications and related systems · Work with business users to conduct and facilitate requirement gathering sessions and perform Fit/Gap Analysis to develop and document and system requirements that are translated into development activities including automation of reports and user tools · Implement high quality, secure and maintainable code that conforms to the organization’s coding standards · Clearly communication status and open issues to team and management · Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation and training users · Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential · Perform System Integration (functional and non-functional) testing and facilitate User Acceptance Testing for validation of newly developed applications and document issues/defects and track them to closure.
