*Need Systems Engineer, Need GC, USC* Position Title:Systems Engineer Location:Arlington, VA Duration: 3+ Months Duties include supporting DHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) dedicated HP CS700 Converged Solution that incorporates C7000 & blade servers with Cisco network & SAN fabric switches, integrated 3 Par storage connected to and HP MSL / MSA backup system. OIG's HP CS700 converged system will be installed at Data Center 2 (DC2) with a second DR system installed at DC1. The DC2 system will become primary production with replication to the DC1 system for performing planned fail overs. The CS700 system will host DHS OIG's applications and will incorporate Windows 2012 R2, Red Hat Linux 7, VMware 6.0 ESXi operating systems. Maintain a common naming convention, perform IP address management, post current engineering documentation on a common SharePoint folder, Coordinate 3 Par storage provisioning to support infrastructure and application requirements Coordinate backup policy and verify backup systems are operating normally Coordinate CS700 patch management with DC2 operations teams Coordinate firmware updates and appropriate hardware updates with HP Hardware services Support capacity planning & analysis, monthly billing reporting in support of established CLINs Work with the DHS Run Team to coordinate and schedule moves, add, changes using established change control processes & procedures. Documentation - Author CS700 documentation that include design specifications, rack elevation, cabling plans, Visio diagrams, test and acceptance plans, and current build documents with platform specifications. Ensure version control is applied to the latest documentation posted on the appropriate SharePoint folder location. Continuous Improvement - Use best practice policies and procedures to address issues found by data center staff in order to avoid similar future issues. Collaboration - Interact with the customer and other IT and project teams in a collaborative way to continuously improve; interact with external vendors including Hardware and Software vendors to ensure compliance. Problem Management - Resolve technical and/or project issues at the customer application level by interacting with appropriate customer application stakeholders. Qualifications 8+ years of professional experience and a Bachelor of Science in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total). The candidate should possess experience in virtualization such as VMware ESXi 5.x and 6.x, vSphere, vCenter, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), vRealize cloud solution and physical to virtual (P2V) migrations. The candidate should possess experience in Windows 2008/2012, Active Directory, DNS, server clustering designs, typical rack server & blade server hardware configurations. The candidate should possess experience in blade enclosure and blade server configurations and mapping blade servers to network, storage and backup systems Must have a DHS EoD and also a DoD Secret Clearance Experience with Red Hat Linux is a plus.
