Basic minimum required skills for application development defined here:

•        Developing, testing and debugging programs and other software
utilizing automated tools.

•        Developing written estimates of time and resources required to
implement systems changes.

•        Developing technical specifications for system changes and
improvements.

•        Leading other staff and subordinates in developing & implementing
assigned tasks.

•        Identifying and analyzing data and developing reports and other
communications to provide meaningful information for decision-making,
prioritizing resources, responding to requests and for future planning etc.

•        Researching, developing, implementing, testing, documenting,
monitoring and maintaining individual systems for the purpose of supporting
and enhancing business functions.

•        Identifying and analyzing risks associated with change,
recommending mitigating measures and solutions

•        Effectively communicating information for the purpose of having
others learn, understand and apply specific principles, techniques or
information.

•        Converting data from project specifications and statements of
problems and procedures to create or modify computer programs.

•        Preparing, or receiving from systems analyst, detailed
specifications to describe sequence of steps that program must follow and
input, output, and logical operations involved.

•        Analyzing specifications, applying knowledge of computer
capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.

•        Confering with supervisor and representatives of departments
concerned with program to resolve questions of program intent, data input,
output requirements, and inclusion of internal checks and controls.

•        Converting detailed specifications to language capable of being
processed by computer.

•        Entering program codes into computer system.

•        Inputting test data into computer.

•        Correcting program errors, using methods such as modifying program
or altering sequence of program steps.

•        Writing instructions to guide operating personnel during production
runs.

•        Analyzing, reviewing, and rewriting programs to increase operating
efficiency or to adapt program to new requirements.

•        Compiling and writing documentation of program development and
subsequent revisions.

•        Training workers to use program.

•        Assisting computer operator to resolve problems in running computer
program.
