We have an ETL Developer position in Washington, D.C. for an ongoing
long-term project at one of our client sites located within walking
distance of Union Station.  This project is estimated to last at least
one year.  Attached, please find details on this opportunity, along
with a skills matrix for consultants with experience in Informatica,
SQL Server, Oracle, and DB2.  The primary tool for this position is
Informatica, so we need people with strong experience using this tool.

Scope

ETL Development Services for an enterprise-wide Data Warehouse. These
services will be provided to augment the full project team consisting
of a project manager, requirements analyst, ETL developers, and
testers. The project team will be responsible for the complete
implementation of the KPI Data Mart, and the implementation of
components, to be defined, of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. General
direction for the team will be defined and prioritized by the
business. Technical direction for the team will come from the
Information Architect and the Manager, Enterprise Data Warehouse.

Specific Requirements

1.Interpret the transformation rules for all target data objects and
develop the software components to support the transformation.
Performance tuning and monitoring of ETL processes, jobs and
extractions.

2.Automate the ETL process through scheduling and exception-handling
routines as well as source to target mapping development, support, and
maintenance.

3.Deploy an error management mechanism to capture all relevant error
information and associate data in a manner that can be reprocessed
independently.

4.Provide thorough metrics to measure progress and accuracy of data
transfers.

5.Deploy data cleansing requirements in a fashion that can be enhanced
over time and executed on demand.

6.Assist with development, design and implantation, and repository
administration.

6.1 Assist with the development of testing methods including stress
testing and execute test plans, loads and validate loaded data.

6.2 Assist with design and implementation of data staging areas, data
warehouse, Data Marts, OLAP cubes and other data stores.

6.3 Assist with repository administration and reporting, including
providing runtime statistics, maintaining project configuration and
permissions, and performing migrations between environments.

Deliverables

1.ETL packages developed using Informatica PowerCenter Designer and
Workflow Manager;

2.Metadata used in ETL processes configured using Informatica Metadata
Manager;

3.Detail data cleansing and transformation documentation.

4.Source to Target mapping and documentation including:

4.1.Flat-File, XML, DB2, SQL Server and Oracle Sources and Targets;

4.2.Aggregator, Joiner, Sorter, Lookup, Normalized and complex
Expression Transformations;

4.3.Workflow Recovery;

4.4.Tuning; and

4.5.Error Handling.

5.Scripts developed on target platform to support ETL process;

6.Complex SQL queries with multiple table JOIN conditions for the
relational DBMS;

7.Progress and Status reports.

Skill Set Requirements

1.Three years hands-on experience with the Informatica PowerCenter
Product suite of ETL tools.

2.Excellent working knowledge of RDBMS and other data technologies
e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, DB2 and others.

3.Detailed knowledge of Data Warehouse and Data Mart physical RDBMS
schemata.

4.Strong Development Life Cycle Methodology experience.

5.Experience with tools to implement data cleansing, transformation
strategies.

6.Strong written and verbal communication skills.
