Need: PMO/Project Manager Assessment
Location: Elkridge, MD {LOCALS Preferred}
Rate: $50/hr.phr
6-12mths
EAD, Green Card, US CITIZEN
The Project Manager reports directly to the Director of the Project
Management/QA/QC Office, and is responsible to fulfill its purpose toward
providing the processes, tools, training, and consulting expertise to help
improve the effectiveness of large-scale implementations and general system
maintenance and operation software updates as measured by schedule, cost and
quality.
*
Performs the following:*
� Coordinates with project managers to assure standard processes, procedures
and methodologies are being applied across the enterprise
� Maintains and evaluates enterprise project schedule for all major programs
and initiatives � individual program schedules are provided to the PMO by
project managers for incorporation into the master enterprise project
schedule
� Monitors overall schedule performance and provides regular assessments and
management reports to senior management and Client Management
� Monitors and evaluates to assure all plans are being developed in
accordance with define standards and procedures and assures updates are
submitted timely
� Conducts analyses, evaluations and prepares reports defining project
progress, problems and with recommendations for operational and procedural
improvement
� Tracks and follows-up on outstanding issues, action items and risks
Education and Experience
� Should have a minimum of 5-8 years project management experience on a
large systems integration effort, multiple portfolio environment, or complex
systems development environment preferably in state or federal government
� 10+ years of Project Management experience, including seven (7) years of
IT-specific experience. Prefer five (5) years general experience in social
services.
� Experience with mainframe, client server, and web development project
management required.
� Ability to successfully monitor and guide large scale implementation
projects.
� Background and ability to lead and conduct project reviews.
� Strong business analytics and financial acumen.
� Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
� High level of proficiency and experience with Microsoft Project and
related tools
� A Bachelor�s degree from an accredited college or university in computer
science, business administration or information systems or related
experience
� PMP certification

� Strong time management, priority allocation and task management skills
� Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
� Advanced written and verbal communication skills
� Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities and manage
multiple projects concurrently. Proven Project Management skills
� Active in pursuing on-going learning opportunities
� Ability to work independently and as part of a team
� Possess drive to work through issues, seek team support and escalate
issues as appropriate
� Ability to work both independently and within a team environment to meet
project needs
