Candidate must have all the skills required for this position. Title: Senior Java Developer Location: Washington, DC Duration: 6 Months The minimum requirement is:- Experience Required technologies: 5+ years of software development. 3+ years of Java development Required technologies:- Java Preferred technologies:- Java, Linux, Maven, Hibernate, Spring, Terracotta, UML, iText, REST, SOAP I would prefer someone much more experienced. The responsibilities will primarily include writing, testing, and deploying server-side code for applications exposed as REST and SOAP web services. The responsibilities will also include designing horizontally scalable applications to work across multiple work nodes. A few skills are critical: (1) Communicative. With development happening in many different locations, solid communication skill are critical. (2) Fast-Learning. We have a deep tech stack that our applications are built on. No one can be expected to know them all already, but insofar as we use them, they have to get up to speed fast. The number of technologies needed to get acquainted with far exceeds our list of required technologies. This is in addition to a quite extensive code base. (3) Pro-Active. Once they build familiarity with our development projects, we expect you to be the sort of person who is pro-active about finding problems and fixing them. If you have a high level person with these skills, lets talk about the costs of having someone at this level in house for 6 months to start with.
